Exceeded our expectations. Food was fresh and delicious! Prepared with care. Friendly staff and lively atmosphere. Bonus—they had Fiddlehead IPA and Guinness on tap too. Will definitely return.

Worth the wait. Food and service are excellent and faily priced. I'm excited to come back and try more on the menu. The onion rings are fantastic.

My family was terrorized by some townie creep. And this place allowed it.

We stopped by here after being recommend it by our hostess at our inn. Wow, we were pleasantly surprised. We had two hearty glasses of wine before getting the prime rib and ravioli with the shallot cream sauce. Both meals were delicious. We especially favored the ravioli, yum. Service was great, we had Tara as a waitress and she was attentive and kind. If you are reading this because you are deciding where to go for dinner tonight, let me make it easy and say go here! ?

The bartender/server today on 3/24/24 was phenomenal. Was quick to bring us menus and drinks and made us feel welcomed even though she clearly has a busy regular-crowd to deal with in a very limited space! On top of that, we weren't even expecting the food to be good, we're just visiting from Boston to get some sunshine and historical photos but the chowder and crabcake were AWESOME. Both were clearly homemade and the portion size was fantastic for the price. I'm a chef in Boston myself and kudos to the kitchen crew.We just came for a quick drink in a dive bar atmosphere and wound up leaving with this on our return-to list. We'll be back!

Quaint bar with awesome seafood and large pours. Had the seafood platter and it lived up to the hype. The staff was great. The Topside is upstairs that opens for dinner.

I have not been to Maddie’s since 1986, BUT prior to that I practically lived there on Saturdays! After spending the day at Cranes or Devereaux, head over to Maddie’s for HUGE cocktails? When you could (and MOST did) get a wicked good one for I THINK $1.50? Something with Kaluha, vodka, amaretto, milk (I had to look it up, those days are OVER) and a coveted stool at THE bar. A group of us went for New Year’s Eve and was ALMOST thrown out for doing: The Hokey Pokey! “NO Dancing or you are OUT”!! I THINK 1983? And I was a “regular” who was just a very FUN? and always “behaved”, because MANY did NOT, at all. I cannot speak for the dining, unless they had chips or something packaged at THE bar, that was the extent of our dining! I remember a handsome bartender that was a firefighter who lived on Nahant. I was SUPPOSED to go to his sisters wedding with him and declined at the last minute. MAYBE that is WHY my dancing was not tolerated?

Maddie's sail loft is a classic restaurant in Marblehead nestled in old town, the vibe is nice and it feels pretty inviting, the food is good and you can go wrong with their seafood. And the servers are attentive and will tell you anything you need to know, also below there's a bar.

One waitress hit me and shoved me and poured the drink on me. I simply didn't believe that this would happen. Fish and chips were stale. The ambiance of location was horrible. I give this a quarter of a star.
