Terry's Old Fashion Ice Cream Shop

We were in Salem for my friend’s bachelorette weekend, and had a disaster experience with our Air BnB near by and needed to cancel our reservation. We were standing outside in Marblehead trying to figure out where to go for the night at like 11:30 at night, past closing, and this man stayed open so we had somewhere inside to stay while we figured everything out. Truly cannot thank him enough for his kindness.

We didn't even get ice cream and I feel genuinely guilty for it. We came up 2.5 hours for my Bachelorette to find an uncleaned AirBNB, and a man who I assumed was the owner let us hang out in the shop for 20 minutes after close until we could find a place to sleep, just so we could use the bathroom and so we wouldn't have to stand in the cold. Give him your money. He restored some of my faith in humanity tonight.

I am not typically someone to leave reviews on local businesses but I was charged a fee to use a credit card without my knowledge. I contacted the business to inquire about why the charge on my card was so high ($17 for a small and kiddie ice cream)

The ice cream is yummy just beware there’s a charge if you don’t pay with cash!

Shop closed 10 min early before advertised closing time.

Horrible service. The kids seem absolutely miserable and do not greet you when you walk in. They all just stare at you and the environment seems dead. Also, when my family and another family walked in. The staff asked “are you guys together?” . Keep in mind we were NOT standing close with the 2nd family. I thought it was weird of her to ask that ? We look nothing a like to the family nor did we even talk to the family. It was weird for her to assume, yes we are all colored but look nothing alike. They ultimately seemed annoyed. I myself work at an ice cream shop and i always greet customers with “hello how are you, what can i get for you” at the end of the day they chose this job. It’s the bare minimum.

I love this place, it's great to go with your children or partner, and they have very good service.

Staff was very kind highly recommend coming here for your late-night ice cream cravings! They have soooooo many flavors!

Always the best in the summer to go down to Terry's and pick up some fresh Richardson's ice cream. In Marblehead, Terry's has been here for years and I highly recommend Terry's to anyone in the area looking for amazing ice cream!!!!

They add a 20% tip to every order without telling you and then close at 9:30 pm even though it’s posted open till 11 pm.

I really enjoyed their Blueberries Pie ice cream here and will come back for that. So delicious!

Only place around open til 11 pm that isn’t fast food. 5 stars for that alone! Cute ambiance, jukebox, soft serve flavors you don’t see anywhere else… Everyone working there is so friendly. So many options and great prices.

Cons: unbearable smell of sanitizing chemicals they use

Ice cream tasted like cleaning products the tables and floors were filthy service was terrible… I regret coming here…
