Best hamburgers in town, let alone out of town. They cook it to your liking: rare; medium rare to well done if you want. Sirloin on perfectly toasted sesame bun, crisp iceberg lettuce, fresh tomatoes and onion. Healthy portioned, and absolutely delicious. The classic down to tee.

We were on vacation visiting in town so it was mine and my friend first time going there it was recommended by a local. Love the atmosphere and the history of the place. I like how they have the bar for locals that's noisy separated from the dining. The bowl of clam chowder that I started with was excellent, the Lobster rolls each cost $31. We each got a hot and a cold one to split not worth the money. The hot Lobster roll had shredded lettuce as a filler which i didn't care for and they put mostly from the claw mmeat and tip which has no meat it's slimy and the cold same thing but drowned it in lots of Mayonnaise. The Lobster is what you want to taste on the roll no need to overdue it on lettuce or dressing and should be more meat for that price. The service was alright we had two they were rude. We got desserts to go I got strawberry shortcake that was very good. The shortcake was more like biscuit, but I would prefer to eat it there and my friend got the bread pudding she said it was way too sweet and not worth $9.75 If I did go back I would definitely get the clam chowder & Strawberry shortcake I highly recommend. Total bill $127. Incl. tip for 2 people that's way too much never will do that again. I'll get the Haddock dinner.

Great staff, great food, strong drinks. I've been here many times and their food is some of the best you'll find at a bar in Marblehead that also serves strong drinks. The prices are very reasonable as well.

Chowder was awesome!! Had had the Haddock fish sandwich which was incredible. Highly rated this place. The service has a 4 star because (1) We had to hunt someone down in order to be seated and (2) when she sat us, it was more a "your waitress will be so and so. Here's your menu." And then scuddled off like she was bothered we came in the first place... Will I go back though? Hell yes! The food was really good!
Food was decent, good but nothing special. Service was a little slow but not horrible. We were only there for an hour from the time we sat down until the time we left but another staff member (hostess? Manager?) kept coming over and clearing things off the table and starting at us. Having worked in the industry in the past I could tell she wanted us to leave to give the table to someone else but we were trying to finish our drinks. We hadn’t been there all that long and we had wanted to get another drink but decided to just go somewhere else since it was uncomfortable at this point. I understand wanting to get more people in, but it shouldn’t be at the expense of other customers. If I’m out at a restaurant I want to enjoy my time, not feel like I’m being rushed out, especially after we had waited awhile for the server to take our order.

We had a wonderful experience dining at the Three Cod Tavern, our waitress Sandy was lovely and the food was delicious. And I cannot stress this enough, try the lobster mac and cheese!

My mother in law and I went here for dinner tonight and it was delicious. She had mozzarella sticks for an appetizer and I had a bowl of clam chowder for mine. We both had the stuffed shrimp for entrees. We were seated right away and Ruby was our waitress. She was attentive and always made sure we were doing ok. We are visiting the area and will probably be back for dinner tomorrow as well. We also plan on trying their brunch. Will update once we do.
