This shop is in need of a major cleanup. The tables are all worn out there's no proper ventilation and the food is not that great. Not taking credit cards is an inconvenience. They should post thjs more prominently. By the waynd way why not take credit cards every other shop in Marblehead does. Cleaner brighter more airy places within a 5-minute walk. Tried it once and no reason to go back.

I was starving and I had a half hour ride home. So I looked around to find something close and quick Google maps showed me a couple places and I chose Village roast beef and seafood. Where I am from we don’t have something and roast beef. There’s no pizza and roast beef and seafood and roast beef, there’s no roast beef. So I went and there was a sign on the door that had special fried fish. The people that work there were lovely. Very nice and I ordered my meatball sub and an order of fried fish. The fish for supper. The meatball sub was for lunch the next day at work . The fried fish was excellent. it was a good portion size. The fries were crispy. I hate soggy limp fries. These were not. Next day I had half of my meatball sub which was bigger than I expected. So I had it for two days. The sauce was good. The meatballs were actually meat balls. I’m Italian you can ask anybody who knows me. Don’t tell me. It’s a meatball and give me cut up pieces of meatballs. I want meatballs. These were delicious. I didn’t spend a lot of money. I got three meals, and I was pretty darn happy. Pretty darn.

I paid 38 dollars to take out a Roast beef and 8 piece wings. Firstly Don’t go here they just rip you off.. the tip is automatically set so you won’t notice them ripping you off if you don’t get a receipt. This practice should be illegal. Stay away. The Roast beef was flavorful but for a super I should have received a more meat then this the Bun is very thick and basically your eating bread and cheese in a lot of bites. The Wings are frozen wing dings not fresh. First and last time.

People were amazing, food was delicious. But they need some serious ventilation in there. It felt like 120 degrees in there, I feel bad people were working in that heat

This place used to be fantastic, always busy but still fast. When Galaree and the old staff were around it was a daily visit for me, these days however, the food quality has gone way down, and prices have gone through the roof. They nickel and dimes you on everything, and are now trying to make up for their lower customers by offering more menu items like lo mein and Italian pasta. Their brand has completely been destroyed at this point, The Marbleheaders who used to love their food under the last management have simply moved on to better places... Which is why this place is usually empty these days, as they rarely get your order right anyway.

As a local contractor who used to visit village RB&S almost every day for lunch under the past 2 owners, I have to say that it has gone completely downhill. Food quality has gone down the drain, and the price is outrageously high. What used to be my favorite sub shop in Marblehead now charges 23 dollars for an underwhelming veggie sub and tiny order of cafeteria mozzarella sticks. A 2.99 heaping bag full of fries 3 years ago is now 5+$ for a portion 1/3 the sizeAnd they upcharge for everything. Ask for extra pickles instead of another ingredient, tack on a dollar even though it is replacing another ingredient on the listed menu.I guess there is a reason why they are now offering Italian pastas, tacos, fried rice and lo mein noodles as "specials" the new management have destroyed the Village Roast beef brand by not focusing on what made this place great, and are now just trying to be a Chinese, Mexican, Italian Sub and fried food shop instead of what made them lucrative for many many years for their great roast beef, fried seafood and foods, subs and Greek specialties.Only a few years ago, when Galaree worked there, she knew your order when you walked in, and there was always a line of contractors waiting for a sub on lunch break piled high for a decent price, the new management nickel and dimes you for everything, and will soon be out of business or as empty as the liberty tree mall. And they will sadly only have themselves to blame. It is so sad to see this 5 star sub and fried food shop fall so far with its new ownerships poor business decisions.

Very sad! Used to be a town staple. Not anymore. Prices jacked up and quality down significantly

I grew up in Marblehead and this was my go to place for fried seafood but this is no longer a place that I will get food from. We got a seafood combo platter and the seafood was not over cooked but there was no tartar sauce in our bag! The fries were soggy. I rate the platter as generous 6/10.We got a veggie sub with too many pickles and rated as 3/10! We got a Greek salad with grilled chicken that came with dressing that was not Greek and it was rated as 6/10!

Used to go here all the time but away and came back here obviously new ownership and it is horrible. They don’t even know what a Greek salad is anymore or what chicken kebabs are good luck. won’t be back. In addition, the prices are insane for what they give today and the quality is a less than one store. They don’t know what they’re doing.

Could not find recent reviews. Ones I read could not be more far from current experience. Prices high, food, as one reviewer did say, was like cardboard, tasteless. Curly fries were dried out, gross! Also got pepper and egg sub. Supposed to be with cheese. Why bother? Was sooo little, you could barely find it. Definitely could not taste it. Awful green peppers, no taste eggs. Friend got veggie sub, not too bad. They would not let you, paying customers, use the bathroom!!! So sorry I came. They need to LEAVE this area and go to cooking school. What a horrific experience! Heed the warning!!!!!
