I was not expecting what my family and I received. Great food, a great atmosphere/ view, and professionalism. The service was more than great. If anyone goes here, you MUST try the firecracker shrimp. I posted a picture of a single portion so you can see the details and how big it is. It was delicious! Everything else we ordered was great. I ordered the garlic and lime pork chops and loved it. I have a family of 5 and the bill was more than reasonable. We reserved a spot and walked around the Zoo until our time came.

I recently hosted my daughters baby shower here and I received SO many compliments on everything from the venue to the food.

I honestly could not be happier with how it turned out. The entire staff on the day was amazing, the servers etc. But especially Rylie, the event assistant, she was so attentive and so personable. I couldn't believe how helpful everyone was. They even loaded all the gifts on carts and assisted with bringing them out for us.

The event Manager Sarah was awesome to work with through the entire process and made sure everything was the way we wanted it.

I would highly recommend Galliford's for an event.

It was not a cheap place to eat, but the atmosphere was great. It was refreshing going in here after being in the hot zoo. It is connected to Southwick's Zoo, so you can enter from the zoo itself or the parking lot. It's a fancy restaurant overall. I am not a huge fancy restaurant guy, but the meal I had was good for the most part. My main reason for marking down is that the service is slow. It took us awhile to get water and some of the waiters and waitresses don't seem very experienced, though they overall did a good job. I am thinking they probably need to hire more workers. I only tried one dish, so I can't say too much, but if you prefer a cheaper meal and one that is not fancy, this probably isn't the place for you. I recommend trying it out if you're at the zoo because overall they do a good job and it's probably one of the more prestige places to eat at Southwick's Zoo.

Great reprieve during a hot day at Southwick zoo… reservations are highly recommended since it’s a public restaurant and also at the zoo. Normal American bar-type menu.

We recently had a wedding rehearsal dinner at Gallifords. We are not from the area and the wedding venue gave us a list of suggestions for the rehearsal dinner. We tried several other venues but was most impressed with Gallifords. Initially we were skeptical about having the event at the zoo. Gallifords was the most accommodating of any other restaurant. The private function room came with a private patio with views of the zoo. We had three staff members take care of our event. The food was outstanding. The staff was beyond outstanding and made the event even more special.

This restaurant is comfortable for everyone. It has a massive amount of seating and can accommodate large parties easily. Their menu is extensive. It caters to many different diet restrictions. My favorite is that it offers gluten-free calamari among many other delicious choices.

Called three days ahead of time to make a reservation for 12-15 people on Friday. Was told nothing when I made the reservation about a time limit on the table. We showed up and the table was still being set, and the server, who was less than thrilled to be helping us, made us all aware that she “needed us gone by 7”. How incredibly rude. Then, proceeded to clear the table while we still had full drinks and our belongs on the table! We basically were forced to finish our drinks standing up at the bar. I’ve been coming to gallifords for YEARS and after tonight’s escapade, I will not be back and neither will the other 15 people in my party. Atrocious service and behavior.

Have had dinner here several times and had always been pretty good. Not tonight unfortunately. We had GREAT service but the food was sub par. Apps were ok but some tenders were like rocks. The chimichurri steak dinners (we ordered 2), we’re not good. Very tough, chewy steak (and small portion), bland chimichurri, undercooked vegetables (some were near raw). Prices are up everywhere and we don’t mind paying higher prices for meals but not when the quality is not near worth it. Great atmosphere, music, service but if we go back we will definitely try another dish.
