I never met a Piro's dessert I didn't love! Italian cookie and biscotti are great, as well as the fancier creamy specialties; creampuffs, bismarck's, etc. That said, we don't indulge nearly as often as we'd like because the prices are too high, and seem to have climbed each time we go in. Maybe that's a GOOD thing for keeping the pounds off.

Special ordered a Birthday Cake for my wife's 65th Birthday. Arrived late on a Saturday afternoon to pick it up. Cake was not ready. Had to wait until could locate the cake I ordered. The cake I ordered was never found, but another cake was removed from the refrig/freezer and decorated by the counter clerk. Unfortunately because I was running late, I did not view cake before we left with it. When we got to the restaurant celebration(late) unpacked the cake, it was damaged and the Birthday message was a mess, incorrect, and just plain wrong. Followed up with a letter to the manager, but unfortunately never received a response. It's a shame, we always ordered our cakes from Piros, because they taste great. This was the first time we have had such a poor experience. I would have thought the manager would have at least responded to address my complaint.

I have visited this bakery since I was little. It's been my family's bakery for years. My grandchildren love it when I bring them there to pick out a treat.

We are from MN - What's a cannoli? Our son wanted them for his rehearsal dinner so we did a tour of all the places in the area (as well as the "big place" downtown Boston), and Piro's won hands down. We ordered mini's with chocolate chips. The order was ready on time, they were packaged well, none were broken, and more importantly, they were as delicious as they were nice to look at. We are so thankful we found Piro's on a recommendation from the person hosting our dinner. It was worth driving a bit out of our way to have these for our special night. Thank You Piro's!

We stopped here right before they closed and they made us 2 fresh cannolis- one with pumpkin cheesecake and the other a chocolate filled with chocolate chips. They were phenomenal!! We wished we could’ve gone back before we left the next day! This is a must stop for authentic Italian pastries! Wonderful customer service and great cannolis.

I used to think nothing beat rice balls from the north end in Boston. Then I discovered them at Piro’s in Methuen. We live their pizza but who knew that they carried not only traditional rice balls with chicken but also lobster, lasagna and much more by special order. This family operated pizzeria is worth the trip!

Piro's has become my go to place for desserts that do not disappoint. Two of our favorites our the almond macaroon cookies, and the strawberry log. I buy the cookies in large quantities and freeze them. They taste as good out of the freezer and defrost quickly. They are soft and delicious

We have enjoyed this classic Italian family run bakery for years. The variety of cookies, desserts, and fresh breads never disappoint. Even the made to order special cakes, cupcakes, and pies are outstanding. It reminds us of the Providence Federal Hill bakeries that are dwindling sadly.

Ordered the Napoleon and blueberry pastry. The Napoleon was frozen and with an okay taste. The blueberry pastry had very little blueberry filling.

There is such a selection of Italian desserts that it's difficult to choose. they also offer a variety of cakes as well. They make their own bread which is just as delicious. I sometimes buy their bread dough (which is sold in the pizza side) and I make my own bread, homemade pizza as well as use it for my chicken pot pie crust.
