Word on the street is that this place isn't going to open because of staffing. Nantucket needs all the houses they can get so I wish Afterhouse would be a house that stays open
We met a few friends here and loved the atmosphere-- it's got a dark chic pub feel to it. The wine list was amazing as was the food This was our first time eating high end canned anything so our expectations were low but it was pretty delicious as we're the oysters. Highly recommend!
Server just must of over heard my husband say Cabernet then presented him with a glass of wine and the Pinot I ordered. The bill came and the cab was priced at $29. a glass. He had asked her what’s this with the response your cab. We paid but nite ruined.
10/10 bar bathroom experience, would recommend, also had good beer on draft
The wine was great, but the service was terrible. My wife and I stopped in for a drink and appetizer. We were able to find a seat by the window quickly, but after the server took our order and delivered our glasses of wine we never heard from him again. Despite trying to flag him down and waiting to order food, we decided to skip the food and a second drink and left to go elsewhere. Such as disappointment because the vibe is great.
The worst possible choice you could make! Tinned "fresh" seafood! Go grocery shopping and enjoy for tinned food for a quarter of what they'd charge you
It's hard to fathom how Afterhouse survives coming in at #75 out of 81 restaurants on the island. Some seem to find it a hidden gem, others are put off by it's dark, pub-like interior (we noshed outside on the sidewalk and people watched, highly recommended over the pub). We only sought Afterhouse out as we we not hungry enough for a full dinner after a very late lunch compliments of Something natural having reached their limit on making sandwiches that day, ugh! so we biked to Millies, eating after 2:30 then cancelling our reservation (sorry Le Languedoc) after some amazing cocktails at proprietors around the corner where our server recommended Afterhouse for great oysters. They were fine indeed with two varietals coming from the island that I have never had before. $4.50 each, so yes a dozen oysters were $54. Surely a new high-watermark in the price of a dozen bivales. Okay, it's Nantucket and the prices can shock if you've never been to the island or are not from NYC. A small maybe 40 oz pour of white was $17. Two gulps and it was gone. The charcuterie plate consisted of two lilliputian slices of cheese, four thinly sliced coins of salami and chorizo, four shavings of bresaola and and a garni of dressed geens. $29. Yup. $29. With so many great choices to dine on the island it's hard to recommend Afterhouse for a full dinner. Sure, the oysters are some of the best I've had and at $54 for a dozen I would hope so. Our servers were both really great. There's a mandated 23% gratuity added to your bill. Not a stunning discovery as we usually over-tip anyway if the service is good but just be aware. Would I be back? Probably not. Afterhouse may be more of an after-thought on an island with so many impressive choices for on which to spend this kind of wampum.
I have i mix feelings about this place.Maybe after i visit one more time i will have a clear idea but now i will share my first time experience.First thing what you see when you look at the menu is that they add 23% gratitude to the bill + 6% tax so prepare yourself !Great wine menu if you like wine.I am a cocktail person and i do not drink wine so i had beer (they do not have license for hard liquor).I had i nice German beer actually taste great. We try the crab salad and one of the dessert options - chocolate hazelnut cake - they taste amazing. Great flavors , size is ok . Personally i think the food is overpriced but we do not have to forget we are in Nantucket. What i like - kitchen is open till 11 (maybe the only one restaurant here that offer food that late).Service was fine no complainI will definitely stop by again in the late hours for a bite and beer ...
To start, there is a 23% mandated tip included on the bill and an additional tax, seriously? No one on Nantucket asks for this. We ordered a charcuterie board and it was so skimpy, and $27.
The food was exquisite. Everything was light and refreshing. The service was quick, and our server was delightful.

This is a hidden gem that has amazing food and wine, the best music and atmosphere, and servers that make your day better. My only fear is that it will be so much busier next year once people discover it.
The staff were so sweet. The food was exactly what we wanted - light and delicious! And so easy to get to when you are staying in town!
This place was a disappointment. Not a good wine list and overpriced drinks. The bartenders were very friendly and provided excellent service however.
We spent a while there sampling the awesomely random wine/beer/Sake/after-dinner list and had a great time. Owners/bartenders are super-friendly, and helpfully knowledgeable about everything on the menu. I wish we hadn’t just come from dinner because we would have loved to try so many things on the menu. Loved the vibe and playlist and can’t wait to get back!
ðŸ˜love this little place with delicious food and great choice of wine!! Servers are the best
