Word on the street is that this place isn't going to open because of staffing. Nantucket needs all the houses they can get so I wish Afterhouse would be a house that stays open
We met a few friends here and loved the atmosphere-- it's got a dark chic pub feel to it. The wine list was amazing as was the food This was our first time eating high end canned anything so our expectations were low but it was pretty delicious as we're the oysters. Highly recommend!
It's hard to fathom how Afterhouse survives coming in at #75 out of 81 restaurants on the island. Some seem to find it a hidden gem, others are put off by it's dark, pub-like interior (we noshed outside on the sidewalk and people watched, highly recommended over the pub). We only sought Afterhouse out as we we not hungry enough for a full dinner after a very late lunch compliments of Something natural having reached their limit on making sandwiches that day, ugh! so...
