We had an excellent dinner here at Dune. Staff was very pleasant and the dishes were fantastic. It was also very pleasant sitting outside street side.

We had a pretty good experience at Dune. The oysters were excellent, so many complimenting flavors. The beet salad was also great and it was definitely an appetizer to recommend. The rest of the starters were fine, not special or particularly memorable. Entree wise, the chicken was definitely a must try and there is so much flavor in the crispy and juicy meat. The steak was also perfectly cooked and plated. The scallops were good too but there were only 3 of them for a pretty high price. The halibut was our least favorite as we felt it was a little sweet. For Dessert, we ordered the peach cobbler which was slightly weird because it was deconstructed. Not up to the level of the other parts of the meal. The vibe and music were great, and the waiters were welcoming. Overall, our dinner at Dune wasn’t particularly memorable, and for the price, I wish it could have impressed us a bit more. Still, many of the dishes hit the spot; 8.8/10.

We went to dinner for my husband’s birthday to end a beautiful day in Nantucket. The lobster risotto was out of this world. scallops the best we ever had. The corn chowder with crab is wonderful. If I could give more than five stars I would. everything was perfect.

One of the best restaurants, so far, during my first experience in Nantucket. The pictures show the creativity and care that goes in each dish. The wait staff were so friendly and on top of every request.

Enjoyed dinner on a Saturday evening in July. Deceptively large but relaxed restaurant on 3 floors. We ate outside which is cute. The serving team took great care of us and the food was excellent - we enjoyed the halibut and the chicken. Definitely recommend if you are strolling around downtown Nantucket looking for a laid back place to enjoy a delicious evening meal.

First off I would say they do an excellent job with the food. All the people at the table enjoyed their meals. I had the shrimp and grits appetizer which I would order again when I go back. The sea scallop entree was delicious and the scallops were local and LARGE. My frien had the Steak which I tried and it did not disappoint. My wife had the beets with goat cheese and the halibut. The only disappointment was the specialty rum drink (Brought Ha Ha) which was bitter from too much lime juice, the other flavors it the drink were obscured by the heavy lime flavor. But don’t let that stop you from trying this restaurant !

This was our first and likely last visit to Dune. The food was solid - not the best we’ve had on the island, but not bad. The service was as bad as we have ever experienced, though. The menu has few options for GF in terms of main courses, but of the couple options, the sirloin was actually well prepared and a pleasant surprise, but the salmon was disappointing. The real issue was service. We had a fairly early seating, with the dining room fairly empty. We ordered and the room filled in over time. An hour later, we still did not have our appetizers, but noticed many others arriving later finishing both appetizers and their meal. So we caught the attention of our waitress, who said she would check (aside - did she not notice us sitting their an hour after ordering?). The manager then came out and apologized that they had some SW issues and the order had not gone in. OK, problems happen. Let’s move on - meals cost a king’s ransom in Nantucket, ao let’s just enjoy… except… another hour passes with not a single visit from our waitress. Appetizers were looooong ago finished. People arriving after us have finished their meal and dessert, paid their bill and left. The new diners seated after them have ordered and been served. So we once again catch the attention of our waitress. The manager returns assuring ours is “next ticket up”. Say what? That’s the response? No acknowledgement that, even after losing the first half of our order they didn’t check to be sure our entrees were prepared in a timely manner? We would have been there until closing had we not flagged down our waitress, who walked past us dozens of times during tne two hours we waited. Ultimately - and without us requesting - they comped the entrees as apology, which was a nice gesture. But the evening was ruined and everyone felt uncomfortable. I’m not going to trash the restaurant with a one star rating - I imagine finding, training and retaining help is tricky. But prices have skyrocketed on Nantucket, and the quality of food and service has not kept pace. You may have a great experience and meal at Dune. Sadly, we did not.

Never have I written a Google review, but the experience at Dune called for the occasion. The service took over an hour to deliver our course and the entree portions were the size of an appetizer. Very underwhelming and very overpriced for the entire experience. We were given sparkling rose to compensate for the wait, but it was not good either. Would most definitely would not return given how many higher performing restaurants are on the island for the same price, if not more reasonable. 2/10.

Went there with my family for dinner while on vacation. I am not a foodie or one who has supremely high expectations. I have never left a Google review before but tonight merits one so no one else falls prey. We first met our waiter 15 minutes AFTER being seated — on a Monday night at 7:40 (not exactly a busy time) 20+ minutes after being seated we still had no drinks, no bread, no nothing. I finally asked the kid bringing water if we even had a waiter and then the waiter showed up 5 minutes later. We ordered lest we lose sight of waiter again, which was smart because we only saw waiter maybe twice again before food came over an hour later. We were seated in a back corner on the “outside” part of the restaurant, but with mostly plain white wood panel walls and a slew of electrical cords as visuals — zero ambience. They have crammed three two tops together and mine, in the middle, was uneven and rocked up and down. Clearly recognizing what a debacle it was, after about 30 minutes after we ordered they tried to remedy it by bringing us a plate of beets “on the house.” When that obviously fell flat (who on earth thinks an order of beets will make things right???) we had now gone over 50 minutes from ordering with none of our ordered food, they then brought out a risotto appetizer also “on the house” and it was the only bright spot of the night — indeed, the only edible thing for me that they put on the table. The $52 piece of salmon I ordered for my meal from the menu finally came out around 8:55 pm and it was to put it kindly a disaster — tiny, plated strangely, cold, undercooked, and weirdly spiced. try as I might and as hungry as I was I couldn’t finish even half of it — and I am a guy who ALWAYS finishes his meal. It was probably the worst entree I have ever been served at any restaurant ever — and I am 54 years old. In short, I would not go back Dune if they offered me a free meal and $100 cash. I am hoping whatever happened tonight was an exception, or of not they will be out of business by September. God bless them.

I ordered the Salmon dish and unfortunately they cook it by searing all the sides on a pan but not long enough for the salmon to be cooked all the way through. I’m just personally not a fan of that, we sent it back to be cooked more but they just burnt the sides again and the middle was still mush. The service was wonderful and very accommodating with the issue with the food. My partner ordered the chicken and it was very good, so we just replaced the salmon with chicken instead. Overall I think the restaurant is very good, but I think they should change the way they cook the salmon.
