The restaurant was absolutely amazing. A very romantic ambiance. It is on the high end when it comes to dining, but very worth it if you're a foodie as myself. My husband surprised me to a night out and it was perfect! I recommend it to all couples. The board walk to the beach was so Beautiful and very calming.

Our main courses were very nice (seared halibut and steak frites), however the dessert (13 layers cake) was unfortunately underwhelming. It lacked flavor and seemed lost on the plate it was served on. Although our server and the host were professional, we missed the friendly personal touch we have experienced everywhere else on the island. Would we recommend it to our friends? Probably not.

Food was okay. Drinks absolutely sucked. Atmosphere outstanding. No alcohol in drinks at all and for 24 a drink it’s just ridiculous. I mean everyone can tell , honestly I really can’t believe it. The table beside us complained bc of it. We ordered 5 different drinks as a couple and all of them were same. I guess order wine and beer if you eat here. I really wish I could recommend this place bc the atmosphere is awesome but the food, drinks and service is not on point for 250+ a person to eat here.

I’m a vegetarian and was fully prepared with just having a salad as their online menu does not have anything vegetarian on it. This is something I am used to and doesn’t bother me. I’m a big atmosphere person and you really can’t get much better than Galley Beach in terms of atmosphere. When it came to take our order I asked the waiter for a salad to arrive the same time as my husband’s entree. He took the ask me questions and finally got out of me that I’m a vegetarian lol The waiter could not have been any nicer and assured me the chef would absolutely put together something nice for me. I was so pleasantly surprised when I received my entree! My picture does not do it any justice but it was truly a work of art. I was so amazed at how something so delicious and so beautiful is not a staple on their menu! I truly appreciate the time our waiter took ask the question and make me feel not embarrassed and the time the chef took to prepare such a beautiful dish for me. You can tell the chef is a true artist and can see the pride on his plate. Thank you all ❤️❤️

Had a great time for my Bday dinner!
Galley is a must while on the island - at least for drinks and sunset.
We tried multiple things from the menu and everything was very good.
Thank you Stefan for a great service and Pavle for amazing cocktails!

The restaurant at Galley Beach is a place to see and be seen on Nantucket. The location is impeccable. The menu features a mandatory two course prix fixe with various add ons. If you go there with smaller kids, this menu operates effectively as a tax because kids cannot manage two courses. There’s zero flexibility on this requirement. In the summer, avoid an evening seating in the section to the left of the reception as you will face intense sunlight til sundown. The service is professional but lacks attention to detail. Refills of your wine can easily be neglected. Speaking of wine, the sommelier is really great and a bright spot in the mediocre service. The food quality is acceptable but nothing to tell your kids about. Prices are high, even for a place like Nantucket. A 23% mandatory service charge is added to all bills. One wonders if the restaurant fears that discretionary service charges (tips) may not be forthcoming given service standards. Go there if you feel you must. There are better places on Nantucket, though.

Kid-friendliness: Definitely NOT a place to bring smaller kids to.

The only good thing to say about our dinner at The Galley last night was the amazing sunset which the restaurant had no control over.

They can control the service by wait staff which was extremely lacking. Perhaps they don't feel the pressure to be good at their job with 20% gratuity guaranteed.

We waited for a long time at the table to place our order, then waited an hour for the food to be served. Four out of our five dinners were good.

Needless to say it was a disappointing choice for a special celebration.

Galley Beach is hands down my favorite restaurant in Nantucket. This weekend, I encountered an issue with my reservation, but David, the manager, resolved it quickly and seamlessly. The exceptional service and personal touch at Galley Beach truly sets it apart (in additional to the sunset views that are unbeatable).

Decent food, pay more for the atmosphere and seeing the sunset on the beach but when we went it was cloudy so missed out on it.

Very overpriced for the quality of food and service. $89 per person for 2 courses but over 50% of the menu options also had a supplemental charge AND automatic 23% service charge regardless of size of your party. $5 for 3 rolls that tasted like they were from a bag at the supermarket. My swordfish was overcooked. Chicken was overly salty. Waiter was not friendly. He was actually rude- we asked what the most popular dishes were and he said “like I find you- the escargot and the lobster roll” BUT I only asked this question once. He must have confused us with another table. It was very hard to get a reservation- not with the hassle.
