This a response to Anita’s review (aka probably the owners) First of all, there were already multiple reviews about poor service at your restaurant before ours, so this is not an isolated incident. From the moment we were seated, our waiter treated us as if we were a burden rather than guests. His attitude was extremely rude and dismissive (news flash buddy you’re in the hospitality industry, and service is a big part of how much $ people tip).

After leaving, our group went to another oyster restaurant by the pier where we spent over a thousand dollars. While the amount doesn’t matter in itself, it the fact that the money could have easily gone to your establishment if we had received basic respect and decent service.

It seems like you automatically took the side of your employee , I would take a serious look at all of your reviews mentioning poor service you clearly have some bad apples working for you. You’re fortunate to have a prime location, because in the long run, consistent bad service will catch up to you.
Also, your waiter was acting like a little dweeb I would love to see him working somewhere else , trust me he wouldn’t last long , the woman waitresses were respectful and accommodating I have nothing bad to say about them .

I came for buck a shuck yesterday and was having a really great time, great music great service but about halfway through I witnessed the staff get treated so horrifically by a group of 10-15 twenty-something’s at the table next to me. They were really rude to him from the start and they were all being very loud and talking over him and each other, but eventually they started yelling at him about how they couldn’t get more than one thing of oysters at a time? The server was really calm and respectful to them but the next thing I knew they were all screaming at him and honestly I was afraid it was going to get violent because of how drunk they all were. Eventually a manager and I think the owner came over? They ended up getting kicked out but they were hanging around the restaurant for so long it got a little scary. I was really impressed with the way the server and his managers handled himself the entire time, and I wish I knew his name but he wasn’t my server. Anyway, great job to The Sandbar team!

First time on Nantucket! Here for a bachelor party this weekend. Sandbar was at the top of the recommended list from people who I asked. It did not disappoint! Our server was incredibly nice and prompt — I think her name was Lily? Drinks were fast, food was good, vibes were perfect. Definitely coming back soon.

Hello this place is cute but I got so sick from the oysters and was sick in bed for almost 3 days! Would not recommend getting oysters or other seafood as other people told me about also get food poisoning.

I came here specifically for the Oysters and was hospitalised then next day due to a bacterial infection from the oysters,
I almost died , I would be very careful when ordering their raw food

Terrible place. We couldn’t even place an order — the staff were unbelievably rude and treated us with zero respect. Instead of helping us, they acted annoyed and dismissive. Absolutely unacceptable behavior. We walked out without ordering, and I’ll never come back

The customer service is the worst I have ever experienced our waiter would not answer our questions and would give us attitude with his responses if he responded. Gave us a hard time taking our order. Would really CRU Oyster bar instead.

Sever was very disrespectful!!! Would not let us say our side and when asked to split checks he said only one table. Asked if it was fine to split up to different tables and he denied to let us !! Very disrespectful!!!!! Would not recommend this place

Made a trip on our bikes just for the $1 oyster special from 3-5pm and was so worth it. Delicious, salty, and amazing toppings to really enhance flavor. The patio was shaded and all the workers were very nice. Amazing vibes and then getting to go check out the sandbar beach nearby was awesome. Cool gift shop too
