If you’re looking for real, fresh-from-the-water seafood, Sayle’s Seafood Market is the place to go! The seafood here is never old or stale — you can taste the freshness in every bite. Everything feels like it came straight from the ocean to your plate.
Their seafood menu is amazing, with so many delicious options to choose from. Whether it’s fried, steamed, or grilled, the quality is outstanding and cooked perfectly. You can tell they truly care about freshness and flavor.
And the best part? 🦞
You can actually buy live lobsters, including huge ones nearly 2 feet long! Seeing those massive, real lobsters alone tells you how authentic and high-quality this place is.
If you love seafood and want fresh, real, high-quality ocean food, Sayle’s Seafood Market is a must-visit. Highly recommended for seafood lovers! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Sayle’s Seafood does not allow entry of certified service animals, which is ILLEGAL under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), passed in 1990. It is unfortunate to see that even 35 years later business owners still discriminate against people with disabilities. I urge you to please contact your representative, Bill Keating (MA, 9th District), Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination (MCAD), and Senators Elizabeth Warren and Ed Markey and COMPLAIN about Sayle’s Seafood discriminating against people with disabilities.
Best take out ever
Freshest, most delicious seafood! Sat on the front porch.
Great place and an easy walk if you are here on a boat. Everyone was very friendly and all the seafood was fresh. Considering it’s Nantucket, the prices were reasonable, a good value for Nantucket.
Do not go. We've lived on the island for 32 years and decided to treat ourselves to oysters and lobsters. While the lobsters were excellent, the oysters were clearly bad—inedible and potentially dangerous. We returned immediately to inform them, not to cause trouble, but because we work in healthcare and understand the serious health risks that can come from spoiled shellfish.
Unfortunately, the staff was completely dismissive. One employee simply said, “Well, I don’t eat them,” and when we asked to speak with a manager, we were told no one was available. No one took accountability. My mom even asked, “Would you serve this to your own family?”—and the employee walked away without a word.
We’ve never encountered such rude and unprofessional behavior in all our years living here. Save yourself the trouble—and the risk—and do not go.
The best place on the island for fried seafood!
Avoid the lobster roll. It’s not what you think it will be. Spicy and over-seasoned on a dry hamburger bun. Not fresh and not fooling anyone with the spices. Fresh lobster doesn’t need all that dressing.
Unpleasant while taking and eventually forgot to make our order during non peak time - served a few other customers while we waited patiently, looked at us many times but didn’t bother to connect the dots… paying $75 for a lobster, they should at least remember to make it for their customers :/
Great spot to pickup Lobsters for dinner ?️
Also, really delicious chowder and fried fish sandwich (cod)

One of the best places I ate at on the island.
This place is a seafood market and serves a lot of the restaurants. They also have a kitchen and I enjoyed some fantastic clam chowder as well as a fried oyster sandwich. These were really good. The sandwich came with a bag of cape cod chips. The soup came with Westminster oyster cracker. Also got some steamed little neck clams with butter.
Prices are perhaps the cheapest on the island. ($6 chowder and $19 fried clam sandwich, steamed clams were $12.95)
Staff is friendly.
There's about 3 tables outside on their deck with maybe 6-8 seats for those who wish to eat there. Wait time wasn't bad at all - maybe 10 minutes.
It was not a far walk from the main drag. Would definitely come back again.
Very friendly staff, and calamari was delicious
Swordfish wasn't good. But the clam chowder and coleslaw are both great!
fresh and affordable sea food
They are my go to wintertime whole belly fried clams. Haven’t tried much of their takeout food but I have seen some ordered looks great! the prices are reasonable for Nantucket. Have ordered fresh fish from them and it was delicious. very grateful that they stay open through the winter.
