A Nantucket staple saved by the amazingly talented Chef Colin Bixby! Our server Anna was fantastic and the food was the best we had while on Nantucket, can’t wait to go back next summer!

The atmosphere of this restaurant is amazing. It is quaint and beautiful in the gorgeous Sconset setting. Most of the food was good. We didn't care for the licorice flavoring of the mussels, the chicken was a little dry, and the lava cake didn't ooze lava like it is supposed to, but the rest of the food was good. The biggest issues came when we got the bill. We were charged a corkage fee, which was not explained to us at reservation and was not on the website. They even charged us the fee for our two 16-year-olds who were present, and clearly, did not drink. They did take that off after we pointed it out. Later, I found some reviews saying that there isn't a corkage fee if the wine is purchased in the adjacent wine store, but we did purchase our wine there and were still charged. Nobody asked us where it was purchased. The bill given to us did not show that gratuity was added, so we tipped based on the total shown, which means that our waitress was tipped over 40%. ( I guess we should have gotten our calculators out and did the math ourselves to see that they had already added it.) We called the next day to tell them of the error. They said that we could come back, and they would provide a refund for extra tip; however, they called back and said that they reconsidered and would not refund the additional tip. They said that it would not be fair to the server. Although I agree with that, they could have refunded us from the restaurant's profits - heck, they charge people to open (not even pour!) wine that they didn't provide. They certainly have more than enough! At any rate, we will not be returning to this restaurant. There are many other restaurants on the island that had better food and better customer service. Try the Club Car - the food, especially the risotto, was AMAZING!

The food is excellent . Crab cake and halibut 5star. The service is excellent the setting casual band comfortable. Only problem is they will be closing around September 1st. Don’t forget it’s BYOB and check or cash.

Beautiful, intimate space and incredible food.Perhaps one of the best meals I have had that I can remember. From the salad through dessert, everything was perfect. I loved the homey atmosphere, wonderful service and BYOB from the wine store next door. Note that they are cash only, so bring cash.I got the halibut, tuna crudo and garden salad. Hubby shared apps and got the burger. All around wonderful experience- thank you!

The best pure dining experience in Sconset. Not a fancy place but the room is small, like a New England cottage try the house salad and my favorite dish, the peanut encrusted halibut. They have two seatings for dinner at 6 and 8 and there is no corkage fee if you buy your wine in the adjoining wine shop, referred to as the Book Store. This is an easy 5 to confer.

This is our favorite restaurant! The scallops are to die for, the service is so friendly. We just got back and can’t wait for it to open!

We live in Sconset most of the Summer, but in prior years could never seem to get a seat at the Cafe on nights we were interested... it's that popular! Then the whole pandemic hit and so like many other Nantucket Restaurants the Sconset Cafe is only doing takeout. We want to support the island and its restaurants, so we thought we'd give them a try, and they seriously impressed. Despite it being takeout, the food was still beautifully presented, and it was unbelievably fresh and so delicious, We had a variety of starters and entrees, but I could probably live on the tuna and avocado starter alone... just wonderful. And the guys were as nice as can be. Thanks for everything. We'll be back!

Stopped here on a bike ride a few days ago to pick up two sandwiches (roast beef/provolone/horseradish mayo and ham/Swiss/honey mustard) and a large cup of ice cream. The sandwiches are pre-made but still mostly fresh. The bread wasn't great and tasted a bit old but they use lettuce between the bread and sauce to keep the bread from getting soggy which was a good idea. The meat, cheese and condiments were very good. Overall I'd give these sandwiches 3 stars and would probably go with a made-to-order option (e.g. a wrap) next time. The ice cream was amazing and kept this from being a 3-star review. We had a plot of the Mississippi Mud (coffee with oreo chunks) and S'mores. Both were some of the best ice cream I've had in recent memory. The guy taking the order at the window was friendly enough and generally pleasant to interact with.

Sconset Cafe could not be any better! This is the perfect blend of a private, intimate dining experience with a laid back, relaxed ambiance. The service is so personalized, the staff treats every guest as if you're the only person in the restaurant. Not to mention, this was the best meal I've ever had. The best dinner spot on the island!

Best scallops I've ever had; so good that they make me want to order them more often.

We love the Cafe. Our dinners are always consistently great and the staff is outstanding. It’s my all time favorite dining on the Island and oh, the halibut was so good! Liver Pate amazing, salads great and muscles incredible. I love that we get to bring our own wine there!!!! Can’t wait to return. Worth every penny but beware it costs a lot of pennies. Cash only.

This is a small restaurant with two seatings. Make your reservation well in advance during peak season. Corkage fee is $3/guest. We ordered salad, tuna tartare, halibut and a chocolate volcano cake. All well presented. Very nice staff. I would say that food is very good but not exceptional. Noise level is extremely high and seats are not that comfortable.
