I love this place, my family and I come here quite frequently. Although today I had a terrible experience. There was a women working there I hadn't seen before, I didn't get a name but I assume she is some sort of assistant manager with long black straight hair and glasses. She was extremely rude and gave unnecessary attitude. I would understand if she was just having a bad day but another customer told me that she's like this all of the time. As someone who works in customer service I would NEVER treat a customer with such disrespect, especially when it was so completely unnecessary!

We tried a few coffee places while we were visiting the area and Ground Floor was the one we liked the most and the only one we went back to multiple times. The line to order was long but the service was fast enough that the wait wasn’t too bad.

Only been here twice and the coffee wasn’t outstanding. The design of the place is cute, and the staff is friendly but the coffee doesn’t make it a worthy trip.

I’ve come here every once in awhile for the past year and I love the food and cool special drinks. It’s a nice place to hang around with friends or just to sit and have a nice breakfast. However the past few times I’ve come, the woman with blondish hair behind the counter hasn’t been the most friendly. For me personally, it’s whatever I’m just here to get my stuff, but I’ve witnessed how she’s also treated other customers. I agree with the other reviewer, I saw her be really rude to someone once when he had asked if his food had been called as at that time, it was busy and kinda noisy.
The tone of voice she uses can also sound very standoffish, which is also reinforced by her body language (no eye contact) which again, not something I care too much about personally but as oh there have said, isn’t the most “customer service” friendly.
I don’t know her background so I don’t want to judge but I have seen quite a few people get angry or give each other awkward stares when she talks to customers at the counter.
The most recent time I went, before I come up to the counter, she turns away from me, with no eye contact, and says “give me a second” while she helps out her coworker with making the orders. Which is fine with me, but the way she did it, I can see how it may frustrate people. Yes, it was busy, so obviously she was going to help her coworker. Finally, when she came back for my order, I asked about the the cruffin “special” flavor and she very bluntly told me there were no cruffins today and that everything they had was in the display case. Some of them were labeled others were not. I had to verbally prompt her to tell me what they were. She then said “I’ll give you a second to choose” and walks away when I already had an alternative in mind and she makes some more sandwiches for about 3-5 minutes.
I get that maybe she feel overwhelmed with how busy it is and that there are only 2 people on staff, but I think you can see how this may be very off putting for some customers. I get it. I worked in a restaurant type setting like this before so I know how customers react to certain mannerisms and tones of voice. But I like this place. However whenever I come here with a friend of mine, she always hopes the person behind the counter isn’t this woman with blond hair. I saw that the owner replied to another post asking about the time of day etc. so I’ll include it in mine. This was Tuesday morning around 7:30ish am.

Was recommended to try their affogato after asking around, and I was not disappointed. First, every single person on the floor today were SO KIND! Everyone had a smile and greeted us when our eyes met. It felt welcoming, but not only that, the barista who took and made our order was incredibly patient and helpful in deciding what to get. She made my son the cutest little chocolate milk with whipped cream, a giant cookie and my affogato with vanilla and caramel. Everything was delicious and SO AFFORDABLE! I wish they had a location closer to my home, because this would be my new every day go to spot. We’ll definitely be back. They deserve more than 5 starts 🖤

The coffee was really good. I will say that. And they have some very unique creations there which are fun. Though I'm more of a double shot espresso cappuccino or macchiato guy. If you're not doing takeout coffee they do have ceramic cups so you don't have to drink it out of a paper cup. There is another coffee house in town but the ambience here is a little nicer. If you want real coffee shop vibes in the South Coast then you have to go to groundswell in tiverton. Having said that, ground floor coffee is really good and if you're in the area I recommend. You definitely can't go wrong.
