The evening was lovely. The server was very friendly, but she did have a couple of missed steps. She didn't offer us a dessert menu we had to ask & it was my son's birthday and she brought his dessert out without a candle. She also didn't offer us coffee and we definitely would've gotten coffee, but we forgot to ask for it. Not a big deal but that's why she got four stars instead of five. Attention to Detail. I know because I used to do this for a living. My mother wasn't very happy with her clam boil that was on the specials. It wasn't spicy enough and she said she couldn't even find the potatoes. However, My Son‘s entrée choiban and my sushi roll were excellent. We will definitely be back because we do love this restaurant.

Been going for years and love going there. Last couple of times I think it's been a little disappointing. The service seems a little sluggish and less attentive. Food is on par!

Amazing atmosphere. The food was great and the staff were very friendly and kind. I had the lobster roll and raw oysters. Everything was fresh and delicious. Pricing was totally affordable.

Not sure what our waitress name was she did tell us but I cannot remember we sat inside on left last table near windows against the wall ! She was great food was also great !

We were served by a waitress who was very solicitous of food allergies that members of our party had, such as pointing out that the fried food ordered was cooked in oil that could have been used for the scallops, the offending allergen.

We were there to celebrate my father's 82 birthday. Our waiter was outstanding, super polite, and attentive. Checked back multiple times to makes sure we had everything we needed. His quality of service made it a very enjoyable dinning experience.

Excellent food and service. We had both seafood and steak. Both were excellently prepared with tasty, well matched sides. Nice selection of mixed drinks.
Waitress was amazing! Made reservations and selected seating in the main dining area, got there and was seated in covered outdoor, ask to move since thats what we reserved online, was told we couldn't. OK fine. Food i have to say was less than stellar this time, apps were fine but both our steaks were way over cooked for medium rare I mean there was no pink at all..which would of been "ok" if the steaks were seasoned. We had to ask for salt and pepper there was zero flavor. We had the special and the filet medallions and lobster. Lobster was ok also not buttered or anything. Sad because it was really a meal to rave about last year, this year we were left very "meh" cant say we'd make the trip back. Literally drove 3 hours this way from ct for a birthday day trip and expecting the same awesome three courses we had last year.....not so much this definitely missed the mark this time....dessert wouldn't bother with that either. The 3 hr drive back we both couldn't believe how meh for a 200 meal it was. Again the waitress was awesome so she gets 5 stars today :)

Celebrated a friend's birthday at Black Whale and enjoyed immensely. I started with a bowl of Portuguese Fishermans Stew. It was LOADED with shrimp, fish, calamari in a really tasty broth. Fantastic! For my meal, I ordered an appetizer: Piri Piri Octopus (which was MUCH larger than expected), accompanied by salt cod fritter and nicely dressed greens.

The place is nice but after you pay they dont care. Had a wonderful experience to begin with the staff however it turned sour after the manager Robert asked us to move when in the front. It was pouring rain and we were waiting for the car however they said we were in the way for incoming customers and wanted us to move in the rain. We had 6 kids and Robert said we could not stand there. Sad way to end the night.
