I live in the area and have grown up eating Portuguese food. My girlfriend and I went here early on a Saturday night 5pm. There were only two or three tables full. We were asked if we had a reservation, as if we needed one. We did not need one, the place was almost empty. The food was bad, my girlfriends steak tips looked microwaved. I am pretty sure they were, I know my rice was microwaved in plastic 🙃. The french fries, bread, and soda was the best food. There were about 5 or 6 wait staff. They were sampling wine. It took far too long every time we asked for anything. I really don't want to tell a long story full of complaints. The service wasn't great. I feel like they treated us worse because we weren't regulars and the food was horrible. If you want great Portuguese food go to another great place in New Bedford or Fall River. Not this place. I remember them being good years ago.

It was the perfect place for us.
Not too small, not too big.
Cozy, but not too intimate.
Low noise with the music and conversation going on.
And, good prices.
Waitresses are Great.
Attentive and Efficient and very nice conversationalists.
Mostly Portuguese food, which was great.
Great spice sets, without hot spicy, unless you want it to be.
Great looking bar with good drinks.
It's become a regular with us.

came here on a friday with my husband and the people in front of us had a reservation and we was not sure if we needed one so we asked the two gentlemen behind us if they had a reservation and they informed us that they did not. when the waitress with the blond hair came over and asked us if we had a reservation and we informed her no she told the guys behind us to come and she would seat them and told my husband and I that they had a reservation and we told her they said they did not and her reply was well they come here often and seated them then came back and told us it would be a hour and a half wait. I will never go back to that place again.

My husband and I were bored an hungry and one of his friends suggested going to The Roasted Pig, and let me tell me, the place did not disappoint at all, menu was impressive, food and hospitality were outstanding, I highly recommend this restaurant in the North end of New Bedford, I was very satisfied with the outcome!!

Lovely little spot in New Bedford. Quiet and very clean. Our waitress was a sweet young lady who was attentive and knowledge about the menu. My meal was phenomenal. I had the Prego no Prato (petite Portuguese steak plate) and it was delicious. Hubby ordered Shrimp Mozambique (Sautéed shrimp finished in a buttery saffron sauce with garlic, scallions and lemon butter) and he said it was just a touch on the sweet side. I make this dish, but a bit spicier, so he's used to heat, not sweet, but he enjoyed it none the less. The red sangria was fantastic with my beef dish.
They have dinner for two specials that include a bottle of wine. A perfect place for a date night, even on a moderate budget. Overall, a lovely meal in a well tended atmosphere. We'll be back for sure. 100% recommend giving them a try.
