This is amazing to me to come across this site of yelp as a native of New Bedford since 1938 and I cannot tell you the memorable and heartwarming the CVBC was to me. I left New Bedford when I was 11 Years old to move to California, Scituate,Fitchburg,Virginia and now reside in Maryland but returned to NewBedford in 1965 -1972 and in all my travels there were none that compared to New Bedford Cape Verdean Band Club. It was an atmosphere of complete harmony and friendliness I have not encountered anywhere. In fact that was where I met my husband Bob (1965) at the Cape Verdean Beauty Pageant he emcee. I always have a great time at the Bandclub, good people good music, keno, sometimes food.
That place is super hot and uncomfortable absolutely no a/c best way to describe how hot hell may actually be.
