Beautiful farm and hills with event spaces. Walking paths provide connection across the grounds while providing privacy from the main spaces. The event space is a repurposed barn that creates memorable spaces with its adaptive reuse. Cozy spaces around the fire place juxtaposed the vaulted main dinning and dancing area, providing prospect and refuge. Another barn is converted to a small hotel with unique common spaces. Rooms range from the expected colonial proportions to those more akin to a tree house. Fun space to support the main event attendees.
My son and daughter in law got married n June is 2025. Everything was absolutely fabulous! If you’re looking for a farm setting for your wedding I highly recommend Gedney Farm! The restaurant is also amazing. Great atmosphere and delicious food!
Truly a Berkshires Best! Amazing food and super cozy rooms. Ask for an “Underberg” after dinner! Brilliant!!!
Great place to stay! Excellent breakfast. Quiet, serene
Very nice place. Was there for a wedding and it was very beautiful
I attended a wedding this weekend at Gedney Farm and I was forced to seek emergency medical care because of the negligence of the staff.
I have a tree nut allergy (severe cashew allergy in particular) and told the waitstaff this when they took dinner orders at the wedding reception. I was told explicitly by the waitstaff that there were no nuts being used in the meal that night. I was then served a salad with a cashew dressing and ate a few bites before staff told me that the salad had cashew in it, and offered me a nut-free salad. No nuts were visible on or in the salad, and I haven't had a cashew since I was two years old, so I have no idea what they taste like. It only took 1-2 minutes after I ate these few bites of food before I started having an anaphylactic allergic reaction. My partner had to use the Epipen I always keep available, and then we had to leave the venue and go to the nearest ER. In short, I spent 3 hours in the ER and missed the vast majority of my friends' wedding reception because of a completely preventable error on Gedney Farms' part.
This is the first time in thirty years that I have had to use an epipen or go to an ER because of an allergic reaction. I’m extremely careful about what I eat. When in doubt, I don’t eat it. When eating at a restaurant or venue, I am forced to trust that once I provide the information they need to know about my allergies that the staff (FOH and BOH) are properly trained and care enough about guest safety to make sure that what I’m eating is not going to send me into anaphylactic shock. Since I was explicitly told by the waitstaff that there were no nuts on the menu at all for the night, I had no reason to doubt that what food was provided was safe for me to eat.
Another guest at this wedding was also served this same cashew dressing after telling waitstaff (a different waitstaff person than I interacted with) that they have a tree nut allergy, and they were just lucky that they're allergic to other tree nuts and not cashew.
An email has been sent to the only email address I can find for Gedney Farm with this information and a more detailed description of what happened. I expect the owners/general managers to address this immediately, since it's obvious that the entire staff needs to be immediately be retrained on food allergen safety.
I would strongly suggest that anyone with a food allergy avoid Gedney Farm, because as of right now, it will not be handled with care.
Quality of food overshadowed by size of portions and pricing. $17 for 3 stuffed cls - yes, 3 - for an appetizer? $34 for 5 raviolis as a main course? That is in-your-face offensive. The food is good - no doubt - but I really felt taken advantage of
This is our most special, special-occasion, spot! The closest thing you could come to a French provincial dining experience here in the Berkshires. As an aside the greatest fried clams I’ve ever ever had in my entire life.

When I say "Five Stars" don't get me wrong; don't look for a butler, Euro-spa (though the bathroom amenities are actually right up there), doorman, etc. HOWEVER do look for a classic New England farm experience built for comfort, a genuine change of pace, gourmet, farm-sourced meals, and if you leave your window open at night, the most intense silence and deep darkness that takes the eyes an eternity to accept.
This place is perfect! It is authentic, clean, friendly, fun, and real. Not the Disney version of a farm...
Rooms: The room was perfectly "authentic," meaning I really felt like I was living on a farm. Every single element was correct: the furniture, the floors and decor, the push-lout windows, the appropriate lack of technology. But add to this ice cold air conditioning, high end marble and tile bathroom with multi function shower nozzles, lots of lighting options including high intensity in the bathroom. Great night sleep!!!
Nearby activities: I came out here to attend a concert at Tanglewood which was about a half hour away, with historic Stockbridge halfway in between. So many activities, facilities, and important venues in the area!!
Food & drinks: The "restaurant" was amazing! I put it quotes on purpose because somehow they manage to put together all of the high end options one would expect from a number of types of restaurants; and they do it with a pronounced local flair and, while I didn't see the word "organic" thrown around extensively, much of the food comes directly from their onsite garden. The wine list is unpretentious yet carefully (and locally) sourced from the best vineyards. I ate light because I had eaten lunch too late to enjoy a big meal, but I greatly enjoyed my House Pita and Lobster Roll. Both were positively elegant, and the Sangiovese was perfect. Also worth noting was the fact that they have a dining room, patio area, and also widely spaced tables on the lawn, perfectly rugged and comfortable. Next time I go I'll also learn more about the huge outdoor hearth...
Noteworthy details: I honestly think this was the first time in years that I stayed in a room where there was no cell service, no Wifi, no TV or media of any kind. It was liberating and therapeutic. Don't get me wrong, I still am someone who needs to stay plugged in as a business owner, but the Wifi (which enabled Wifi calling) was available literally right outside my bedroom door and all over the property. I can honestly say that I will no longer stay anywhere else when I have business anywhere within an hour of this place. I'll add that if you truly have work to get done, you'd do well to consider getting it done here. No distractions!!
And should mention the attentiveness of the staff and management. I can't say how nice it was to be welcomed by Michael, the Owner/GM, who knew exactly who I was, which room I was to be given, and who walked me directly there when I arrived. The room was already set up, air conditioned, lit, and the key already on the desk in the room. I asked to be put on the list for dinner last minute and was not only accommodated, but when I walked over to the dining room, I was met by the hostess who knew I was coming. Amazing!!

We had dinner at Gedney Kitchen tonight for the first time since they reopened the restaurant. It was by far the best meal we’ve had in the Berkshires this season. Wonderful food and excellent service in a beautiful setting. Highly recommend it.

We did not stay at the inn but we ate at the restaurant which could not have been better. Wonderful food, flavorful, appropriate portions and impeccable service. All while in the most beautiful environment possible outside. We can’t wait to come back. Try the burrata salad and the scallops. Exceptional.
