Wonderful place for Italian food in Newburyport!

We discovered Giuseppe’s on our way home to Maine and now stop whenever we are near for take-home meals. The family lasagna is AMAZING!! The only lasagna I’ve had that was better was in Italy. Tasty food, incredible service and REALLY good prices.

I’ve never had a bad meal here.
My favorite is the cheese raviolis with meat sauce.

However the last time we were here our waitress was not great! She took forever to bring out waters after we had already got the bread, I actually had to ask because I was so thirsty then she finally brought it out, ridiculous! While I was waiting for her to bring our water out I literally watched another table ask for water too and she brought it right out to them… before us… the table that was practically dying of thirst because we’ve already been eating bread she brought us for 15 minutes with no water.

The creme brulee was delicious but the disappointing part was that it was probably the smallest portion i’ve ever seen served at a restaurant!

Found this gem on Phantom Gourmet TV show. The food is so authentic and the prices very reasonable. The staff are also super nice. Their Marinara sauce is some of the best I have had and you can take some home with you from their shop next door. Take some beef stew also which is like mom used to make.

Deli meat is horrible here. Who toasts and puts mayo on an Italian sub?

We were on our way to a wedding in Maine and had some delays to our travels. We were STARVING and we wound up stumbling upon giusseppe’s basically by accident as it was close to the highway. What a lucky find!

The person at the front was super friendly and helpful and after hearing about our time crunch for the wedding, the kitchen staff ended up getting us our food in less than 5 minutes. In addition to the phenomenal service, we had a delicious meal. My partner enjoyed the chicken parm sub and said the bread was super soft with homemade marinara, phenomenal cheese. He couldn’t help but eat the whole thing even though it was a very generously sized sandwich! I am vegetarian and had a caprese salad and absolutely delicious arancini per the recommendation of the hostess.

Overall this was such a wonderful experience that I felt compelled to write a review. Phenomenal food & service! We will definitely try to stop by again on our way back!

Vegetarian options: Lots of pasta options. The ravioli and lasagna both looked delicious. There were also many vegetarian salad options. The Arancini were PHENOMENAL

I had given Giuseppe's a five-star review under the old ownership 6 years ago and after a couple of mediocre experiences when it changed hands I gave it a three-star review. I just updated it to a five-star review again as the food and the service was great and we've been in a couple times and I felt The food is great and so is the service.

If I could have one request It would be to bring back the pasta with the a la carte side such as fettuccine and linguine etc. With your own toppings such as spinach, basil, garlic, vegetables, etc. It's a great option for people with dietary restrictions. I'd give it four stars just for that alone but overall we're still satisfied and the wait staff has been accommodating as of late with making that an option even though it's not on the menu.

Nice restaurant of Italian inspiration or origin in Newburyport, which can be, as in my case, a good solution if you are looking for a simple dish for children. You can order takeaway or eat in. In addition to ready-made dishes, they also have many Italian products available.

I have to say the waitresses was excellent... she was on top of everything. The atmosphere was very nice great music from the old crooners Sinatra , Martin etc. As for the food eh!! my daughter and better half ordered Chicken Marsala and ended up getting Chicken Piccata. Which they decided to keep until my BF started eating it and when the waitress asked if he wanted what he had originally ordered he said yes because the Piccata was way to salty. I had the chicken parmesan which was ok nothing to write home about. But the Marsala was extremely good....I would give that a huge thumbs up. Would I return...... unfortunately I would not.....I might if I lived closer but wouldn't go out of my way to go back..... and it is a bit pricey.
