Been here before and always expect a long wait. As per usual, waited 45 mins, but we were then ignored for 30 mins as newer tables were served. Ended up leaving. Probably for the best, as the food almost made me crap my pants last time. If you like a great atmosphere, mediocre food and love to be ignored - this is the place for you!

This place has great prices. Great vistas. Usually live music. I’m confused why the ratings are so low because this place gets down while getting down. Too many softies in Newburyport too many good vibes at the GOAT.

Overpriced food was average, service was decent, atmosphere was nice. Restaurant too small and crowded for my taste. Probably wouldn’t return again.

I think I like this Goat 🐐 restaurant the best in terms of how much more spacious it is compared to the other Goats. It is not gaudy like the Hampton Goat or tight on space like the Portsmouth Goat. It looks so much more open than the Manchester Goat.
Lots of big windows with a nice view of the harbor. Plenty of flat screens to watch sports. Two floors available.
Friendly service. Wi-Fi available. The bathroom was in good condition. They have the same specials as Portsmouth and Manchester Goats.
I tried the teriyaki and the southern barbecue wings. Both were good! Service was very quick!
I am going to recommend to my friends that we try this place for lunch one day!

hello again
yup another 5 star review- the goat
newburyport harbor- ohhh boy - for a eatery to stick out there is some kind of accomplishment-not only are there one million two hundred thousand restaurants in the area - but but to compete with the views - the park - just the whole big beautiful experience of newburyport hummm - lets dig in - for starters the goat
( moving forward tg ) doesn't compete- they blend in - they are part of the experience- if you know me - food comes last in my reviews- sure it plays a part - but food is food - i bring you the big picture- blend in - yes blend in and compliment - from the insane beauty of the planters -( spectacular) to the fully opening sliders that give you a outside on the dock feeling - inside- no seagull poop !!! - or the actual option of outside with the full experience of eating on the pier-just kidding about the poop - lol -seriously- the structure is perfect-- u know me - top of my list is the staff-our server was as good as it gets - interactive- funny - and didn't make it about her - it was our show- and she enjoyed it - god gave us two ears and one moth on purpose- like a well oiled machine- just like a race car every lap with perfect timing- courses came at perfect times-one of my big no no s - is when paying takes forever- when your done and its time to go - another half hour oh hell no - but not our server - again- well oiled machine- round trip with cc and take home boxes in hand -- i would give
the staff server chef and owner for assembling this magic 5 stars anyplace they hang a shingle -ok as promised the food - oh i could go on and on about how perfect the bacon and spicy maple dipping sauce is- or the incredible burger menu- how creative the brisket cheese soup was - and the freshest marble rye with my off the chart pastrami but instead look at the picture - they absolutely should sign the food
yes tg you get a yabadubado 5 across the board - i ty for helping to mske my day perfect

This place went downhill since last year. Dirty tables. Food was terrible, maybe the worst steak taco I've ever had, the bone in wings tasted like they were from the freezer, full of breading and fat. Margarita tastes like water. Find somewhere else, I'd give it a negative star if I could.

The GOAT? More like the WOAT. Would give 0 stars if I could.

The host was clueless, dishonest, overtly rude, and made a mistake that she showed no willingness to own up to nor to rectify in order to retain our business. After driving from 45 minutes away to watch the Eagles game here with family, we were horrified by the customer service.

Will absolutely never return to this establishment. Save your money and go somewhere else where the staff and management cares about customer service and their reputation as an honest business.

Smells like wet dirty rags and they put dirty glasses under the beer taps in cue for dish washing

Me my wife and my daughter decided on our walk through downtown Newburyport that we were a little hungry. We looked online and saw that the goat had bogo burgers and kids eat free after 4. My daughter who is 4 years old and has the pallet of a lizard likes the goat and said she wanted to go. After we had our subpar food and received the bill we were charged normal pricing for everything. I brought it to the attention of the server who told me she could only take the kids meal off because bogo burgers were specialty burgers only and we got “build your own burgers” with basic toppings. My wife had informed that that was not written anywhere online and when I asked the manager about it she wasn’t credibly rude. She snapped at me without when I asked the question and did not care about the situation at all, she was annoyed that I was asking for a deal that I thought was offered. She ended up giving me so much attitude I told her it was no problem, because honestly at that point when you have a 45 year old bar manager giving you attitude over $14 dollars you do the mature thing and post about it ima google review. The higher road. Either way, even as me and my family were leaving I said goodbye and thank you to the server and manager standing at the bar. The manager gave a nasty “goodbye” loud enough to make my wife ask me what that was about. I’m not impressed and unfortunately I won’t be taking my daughter there anymore who loves the place. It was incredibly disrespectful and rude.

The Newburyport location is the best one of all the Goats. Burger and wing specials can't be beat. Food and service are excellent.
