What happened? Used to be a gem. Food quality significantly declined, while the price remains the same. Bad experience. Hope you improve.

This place is a hidden gem! From the moment we walked in, the vibes were so nice and welcoming. Staffs were super friendly and nice. The food was also incredibly delicious. It’s the perfect spot for a special meal that feels both authentic and relaxing. So worth!! Can’t wait to go back!

I had a wonderful experience at Daikanyama! I went here for my friend’s birthday, and it was perfect for a special occasion. All the food tasted very fresh and flavorful.
Our server Cindy was so attentive and friendly to us as well. She made recommendations and was so efficient! I would definitely come back again

We ordered many items from the menu, the only dish that tastes like Japanese food is the instant miso soup.
The rice is not the Japanese short grain rice. It’s hard and not as sticky.
The steak is not seasoned, just had teriyaki sauce pour over it. The medium rare steak is tough and cold.
Tempura dish has the old oil smell.
Raw fish appears dry.
Even the radish is a mush of carrots.
Service is rushed. The waitresses spoke so fast with a strong accent, we could understand only some of it.
Go else where for Japanese food.

Terrible. We waited 45 minutes for one maki roll and 5 nigiri. The fish looked pale and the pieces were TINY all for $65 with no drinks. Don’t go.

Previous Japanese owner gave free teas (O-cha) as a Japanese custom. New owner, assume Chinese, charged as their custom. FYI, green tea is very cheap. Cafe Mamie, Tampons still serve tea at no charge.

Food is always fantastic!
Both entree and appetizer are very small portion and pricy. The restaurant is very small and packed. When the door from the street opens it gets windy and cold if you sit at the bar.
Big disappointment! Planned to eat here for a special occasion after reading good reviews about welcoming, friendly staff and excellent food. Menu online looked appealing. Arrived around 3pm on a Wednesday. Many open tables and two servers. We liked the modern decor. Our server-who seemed rushed-was not the least bit friendly. My friends green tea burned his mouth and was too hot to drink for most of his meal. His Udon Noodles with Shrimp tempura had a nice tasting broth but was also too hot to eat for a while. My Shrimp and Vegetable Tempura was bland. It had no flavor. the sauce that came with it did nothing to improve the flavor. There was a lot more tempura than shrimp or vegetables. After asking for soy sauce -a few times- I tried adding that to no avail. it was just unappetizing. And expensive. We were charged for rice that was supposed to be included... Bummer!
I loved this place and would definitely go again. As a teen it was very nice waiters and staff
Delicious food. Should be busier.
