Great! The ice cream flavors are amazing. Not much seating. They didn’t give enough ice cream though per scoop. The server was a bit stiff but overall good experience.

Friendly staff, let me sample some flavors before I decided on a scoop of pistachio ice cream. It ended up being more than the cost listed on the menu board (maybe because it's a gluten free flavor?) which was a bit annoying that it wasn't listed but it tasted great so I was happy.

Posting this review so that everyone knows to get the Brownie Brownie Batter and the Cookies N Cake Batter. It is life changing. Our favorite ice cream place!

Rich the manager went out of his way to help me . A real pleasure. Turned a machine on for soft serve that was off then straightened out my rewards account 5*

Your regular JP Licks. Some outdoor seating.

Raised prices again and have started hiding the kiddie cups so you'll only see them if you really scour the menu or ask :/

Delicious. Small, and a bit pricey, but the ice cream is incredible.

Look up "totally effing inept" in Wikipedia, and you'll come up with J.P. Licks, Newton Centre. Head there on a chilly evening, when you think things might be calm, and you'll find a line of covid-spewing teens going right out the door, each one taking longer than the next to decide which flavor might do the best job of clogging up his or her arteries. To make matters worse, there's another herd of equally inept (auto-fill suggested "infected," which would also be accurate) teens behind the counter, taking their own sweet time to fulfill the orders. That said, the ice cream is truly outstanding. They could actually sell quite some quantity of this excellent product if the owners had even the slightest clue of how to efficiently run a food service establishment.

We walked in about 8pm and there was still a line -- this place is popular! The staff was hustling and the line moved quickly. I ordered a small (one scoop), and in most places they really mound it up but here it was just that...one scoop. A pretty flat and unimpressive serving, and my daughter's sorbet was the same. Expensive for the price, and not all that tasty. I'll probably look elsewhere.

A good staple ice cream shop in Newton. Loved my first try of the vegan Madagascar vanilla.
