Went for breakfast and was never greeted, and there was no direction on where to wait. The waitress walked by twice but never spoke to us. Finally, we were told by another customer that we could sit anywhere. We sat and waited for about 10 minutes before deciding to leave.

I had an appointment in Newton this morning and figured I’d treat myself to breakfast here but couldn’t even get greeted! My husband and I sat at a table that had just gotten cleaned because another customer let us know it’s self seating. Upon walking in not one person greeted us and no signage to let us know it’s self seating. Anyway we sat at a clean table with waitresses walking in and out for 10 minutes not got greeted just completely ignored. Not a friendly environment!!! I waisted the small amount of time I had this morning, the owners and all the employees should be embarrassed! I just wanted to share my terrible experience so you don’t go, get your hopes up for breakfast and quickly be let down!

Horrible !!! Ordered two BLTs and both were burnt on one side and not toasted on the
other. Bacon not done.
Dripping mayo (I asked for light). A soggy mess. Will never go there again

Simple but delicious homemade food. Get there early for breakfast as they do tend to get busy. Feels like you’re having food in a family member’s kitchen. Cash only. Their home fries are the best I’ve ever had.

Tasteless, dry scrambled eggs that looked more like broken fried eggs with very clear yellow/white streaks. Bacon burnt. Poor quality 'pink plastic', packet ham. Paid extra 35c for 'scali bread' which the waitress said was 'a bit like sourdough' but turned out to be like standard white bread with a few sesame seeds on top. Pancakes were thin, dry & grainy not at all fluffy. Coffee weak tasting too. Absolutely no care given to the food at all. By far the poorest diner breakfast we've had in our 4 week holiday & can't understand the high rating. Several teenage girls (who were pleasant enough but not on top of offering coffee, water refills. waiting on tables but not sure why so many when the place is so small. Cash only. Couldn't see how there could be a restroom but maybe there is. Yes this LOOKS like a traditional old-style diner but that's all it's got going for it.

Wheelchair accessibility: Too small to fit a wheelchair.

Meh. Food was subpar. Bacon was thin, not thick. Scrambled eggs had zero flavor. Coffee was weak. Service was basic. Not sure why they have such great reviews. I love my classic diners, but this was disappointing. Also, cash only. ATM CHARGES $3.

The food was good, but the service was lousy. The waiter might as well have been a walking stone. He didn't bother to ask how things were, not even a smile. Their sign up on the wall states, 'it's nice to be important, but it's important to be nice'.. That was not how we were treated. Our first time and it'll be our last.

We were there for breakfast. The food was good. Compliments to the cook, but the service was dead. The waiter didn't bother to ask how our food was, not even a smile. Needless to say, it was our first and will be our last.

This place is a gem! Been a regular for a few years now. Best home fries in the greater boston area! Homey feel inside and has all the best classics at a fairly reasonable price! Blueberry french toast is delicious and the bacon is nice and charred/crispy. They have scali bread as a side toast which is also a game changer. Cash only*

This was a tiny place. Cash only. The food was great and service was fast. The home fries were almost like grilled mash potatoes with crunchy bits and delicious!!!! Blueberry pancakes were super tasty. I will definitely go back if I am in the area again. Glad we stopped. $36 for 3 meals and drinks
