We visited White Mountain Creamery since we've been hearing soo much about its popularity of their homemade ice creams and being open late in the night in this part of town. From the look at their menu, we were pretty excited to try some out of the ordinary flavors as well. So we went there on a Saturday evening, and got there just in time before the rush began to pick up. We were very excited and requested if we could try 4 flavors before deciding which one we wanted to pay for. And this is where we felt things were slightly putting off. The more elderly gentleman (who I assume to be the owner) looked back at us and told us that trying 4 flavors was too much of an ask. That threw us off slightly, and honestly the most ridiculous thing I've ever been told. I would definitely be more understanding if the place was packed & there was only person managing the store. But it wasn't the case. Anyways, we decided to just ask one flavor to be served without having tasted it.What surprised us was that minutes later (when the store picked up the rush), another customer requested to try 3 flavors before purchasing their order & not a word was said against their request.I've never been denied to try a few more flavors, especially at an ice cream store. And this isn't really about the number of flavors you allow your customer to try before they purchase their order. But something like this really ruins your experience as a consumer, no matter how great the flavors can be. Treat all your customers fairly, that's the least any business can do.

So tonight I took my niece in for ice cream. She ordered a single scoop in a cup. The server hands my niece the ice cream and say that will be $7.xx.. I look up at sign and that was price of medium. So the server/scooper asks my niece back for the ice cream and takes part of what ge served back and puts it into the bin where the unserved ice cream is.Ok let me teach you first rule of customer service... the customer is always right.second rule when u screw up just say oh i will only charge you for small don't worry about it. U don't go putting the food back for general distribution to another! What you never do is take what you gave a customer and put it back in the main storage with the other unserved ice cream as once it leaves your hands and goes into the customer hands you can never put it back. NEVER.I am sure that is a health code violation and would get you fined or shut down besides looking super cheap in the eyes of customer. Yes the kid actually scooped it back. Amazing. I am sure the store owner will come up with a reply. We'll there is no excuse here. NONE! Wow!NEVER put it back. If u work in a restaurant and put a meal in front of a customer it can never be served to another even if u know they never touched it.Hey mr owner this happened 3/10/24 at around 915pm. Maybe you got video and can watch it.

Even holding this shop to the standards of a college hangout spot, I was not impressed. This is my third time visiting, mostly because it stays open late.Ordered two flavors of frozen yogurt. I understand that frozen yogurt will never be as creamy as ice cream, but the texture was watery and weirdly grainy. Like it was freezer burnt... maybe they do not sell a lot of frozen yogurt. I am grateful to see more than 2 flavors of homemade frozen yogurt on a menu.We got whipped cream and it tasted strange and greasy, like a pastry cream that has separated. Disappointing as I saw the whipped cream mentioned in many positive reviewsThe service was friendly and attentive but not pushy. There are lots of flavors to choose from. We were able to sit at a table by the window. There was a dirty mop and bucket sitting in the middle of the seating area, pretty gross to look at while trying to enjoy a frozen treat.

Good ice cream but the man who works here keeps yelling at customers over the most minor inconveniences (ie, “close the door! In or out!” while people are just walking in)

The best ice cream sundae I’ve ever had!

The Ice cream was great but the people (employees) made it accessional. My iPhone battery went dead and I am from out of town. Not only did they find a charger for me they helped me with an Uber ride to enable me to get to my hotel. Ice cream you can get anywhere Compassion and empathy you can't buy. JDFNEW ORLEANS,La

Raspberry sorbet was not my favorite, it was a little too sweet and kind of slimy. Weird how it wasn't light, crisp and refreshing, like how normal sorbets are. Their coffee flavor was fair. Their small is quite large and they don't have kids sizes. My son enjoyed his strawberry ice cream with a sugar cone, which justifies the 3 stars.

9 dollars for 2 scoops of ice cream 2 dollar for the topping it’s so crazy I will never go back to this place

I grew up on this place and I can assure you that it never disappoints. I went most my life ordering one scoop of Oreo, one scoop of cookie dough with rainbow sprinkles on top. Ever since they added "Cookie Monster" to their menu (I wanna say about 7 years ago), I have not ordered anything else since. Cookie Monster is the perfect ratio of Oreo ice cream and cookie dough mixed together into one flavor. Heaven on earth. The star to my burst. The fruit to my loop. The peanut to my butter. The hot to my dog. You get the gist. Incredible stuff. In general, they do have a ton of flavors on the menu -- keeping it real with the classics but also throwing in seasonal flavors and specials of the day. The soft serve selection isn't the best but you don't go to White Mountain for soft serve. You go for hard ice cream and only hard ice cream. What gives this place its charm is a few things: it's open until midnight everyday (for all you late night sweet tooth snackers), it's got BC memorabilia hanging up everywhere (GO EAGS), it provides free water and supplies water cups (huge perk midday after a run down Comm Ave), and it's got a state of the art gum-ball machine that hasn't been cleaned or refilled since like 2002 or something. Again, incredible stuff. Tonight in particular, after finishing my ice cream on the handy dandy outdoor bench, a flock of incoming BC freshman showed up all at once in their orientation squads. I mean the line was literally out the door. Ugh we love to see it. What better way to make new friends then to walk across the street, wearing lanyards with your first and last name on it, mingling with your new homies, munchin on some Cookie Monster ice cream until midnight? Ahh the days. A blast from the past to see that again but very happy to see WMC still holds as the place to be!
