The food is delicious. The service is horrible. We were sat at a dirty table for over an hour before acknowledged for even a glass of water. Meanwhile many other people came in after and were served in that time

I had a very upsetting experience at Sivalai Thai Cuisine in Dartmouth today.
I entered the restaurant with my two-year-old daughter and was told to wait a couple of minutes while a table was being cleaned. We sat quietly and my daughter was so happy and looked at the menu. Within less than five minutes, another staff member approached us and told us we could not stay because my child was “too loud” and that a customer had complained.
My daughter was not crying or having a tantrum—she is nonverbal and was simply vocalizing. She is currently receiving Early Intervention services for a communication delay.
We were not offered any alternative seating, time to settle in, or any accommodation. We were asked to leave immediately based solely on a complaint from another customer.
Being asked to leave a restaurant because of how my nonverbal child communicates was extremely upsetting. I hope the restaurant takes this seriously and provides better staff training moving forward.

Awesome service and atmosphere, and the food is excellent. Unfortunately though, twice now they have mixed up the spice levels on our food... my husband orders super spicy while I don't want spicey at all, and his food comes with zero spice while mine is too spicy for me.

This place is a hidden jewel of the south coast! Our food came out lightning fast, all very fresh and full of flavor! Ambiance was so nice, quirky and quiet, by far the most relaxing dining experience I’ve ever had in my life. Im definitely coming back here constantly!

The food here is soooo flavorful! I’ve never had Thai food before so I was not sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. The prices are beyond reasonable. The Pad Thai and Shumai were so good. I will most definitely be back!

A gem of a place that is tucked away in a very unlikely location. Loved it.

It was my first experience here, I ordered take out! I ordered the chicken pad see ew and crab rangoons. I was blown away! Flavor was 10 out of 10! I will be back for more take out, and a dine in experience! Doubtful that I won’t become a regular! The menu has a lot of options and the ambiance of the restaurant is beautiful and calming!

I am so unbelievably sad to review this Thai restaurant. So I was introduced to this place about 2 years ago. This is when I fell in love with Thai food. I would come to this Thai restaurant 2 times per week. And I live in RI. I would make the drive because the food was unmatched to any other Thai restaurant. There must be new owners or management, because unfortunately the food is not the same. The fresh rolls used to have an option to make them crispy. They no longer do this. The pad Thai isn’t the same and neither are the drunken noodles. The noodles of the drunken noodles are an entirely different noodle. It’s such a disappointment as I used to look forward to going there.
Very nicely decorated & cozy restaurant. Nice attentive staff and fresh delicious food. Will be back!
