Fantastic place to stop if in the area! I first visited this place back in 1988 and it hasn't changed at all since then. I go here every single time I travel north. The experience is life-changing. It is like a ballet taking place in front of you while you eat. Everyone knows their job so well and they're doing it with such efficiency and grace. You have to experience this place to understand how wonderful it is. The $19.95 sirloin tip meal is my favorite. The portions are huge! Everything is so tasty and wonderful. Sometimes we detour 80 miles just to come to this place and eat. It is well worth the trip! Please give it a try. You will not regret it.

This place is great! If you like huge and I mean huge portions this is where to go! It's small and on the weekends be prepared to wait a bit. It's a very old diner with a small addition off the back. The menu is like the portions... lots to choose from. I had a ham western( you can also get a kielbasa western) with potatoes and toast I dare you to finish it!

My hubby discovered this little jewel on a work related trip in 1988. He liked it so much that he brought me back a few years later. We live over 8 hours away from this restaurant. So, we find ourselves back in New England on another trip and we decided to make a detour so that we could revisit Carl's Oxford Diner again. It has been 8 years since our last visit and couldn't pass up this opportunity. There is a pink pig bus as you come into town advertising the dinner that is around the corner.I ordered the steak tip special. It was absolute perfection! Cooked exactly the way I asked and the seasoning was fantastic! Eggs were over easy perfectly, toast was hot and buttery, potatoes were delish! And wow! It was a lot of food! A plate full of steak tips and a second plate for the 3 eggs and the pile of potatoes! I also had a hot tea, which was the standard Lipton tea bag and my favorite! The hubby tried the Billy's biscuit special, which is gravy and biscuits. It was very tasty. We also ordered the corn beef hash to try and he said it was tasty, unusual and different. I didn't care for it, but i don't like corned beef...We took home enough food for 3 more meals, and we were stuffed when we left. The portions are very generous. This little restaurant is so adorable with all of the signage hanging on the walls, the slide open front door. There are bar stools in the front with a couple of little tables when you first walk in. You can sit there and watch them cook the food, or there are a few booths in the back addition. No visit is complete without checking out the bathroom! It is actually outside the restaurant adjacent to the front door. It's a must see!We will be returning in a few days on our way back home. We are so lucky because if this has been next week, which is spring break, they would have been closed. So, if you are ever in the area, this is a fun place to eat and rest on your journey.

I haven't been I have to be honest but my friends went so I looked it up and now of course Google asking me to review this place, ? so 2nd hand info is that it's awesome Diner vibe, waitstaff is friendly, it was super busy when they went so food took a lil bit longer but that's to be expected when u go on Sunday after church. Prices are average but you get ALOT, ENOUGH FOR A "DOGGYBAG" so that's it! Take from that which u want ✌️ ?

I have been eating at Carl's Oxford Diner for about 10 years now with my sister and her family. I live about 1 1/2 hour away but the drive is definitely worth my stomach getting happy with the food. My favorite is the bacon (whole pound) eggs (3 of them) and potatoes. Usually take some of it home because just can't eat it all. The food quality, quantity, services, and atmosphere is also the greatest. You will never go out of this place hungry and probably would skip your next meal. I can't say enough about this place cause it is awesome and glad my nephew told me about this place. If there was one thing to improve upon it would be to expand the building for more seating. I love this place.

Fun, decadent, place for real people to have good food. The amount of food that comes off that grill is stunning. Friendly folks working there too. No one takes themselves too seriously which is fun too.

I've been going here since I was three years old. 37 years later, it's still my favorite breakfast joint. The food is delicious and the portions are huge.

Cross contamination fest!!My husband and I were looking for a quick spot to eat and found this diner. Immediately when we sat down at the bar I could tell my husband was getting antsy after he noticed several health hazards. The biggest one he noticed right off hand was that none of the employees were wearing gloves! We witnessed the cook touch raw beef and raw pork without gloves. He proceeded to continue cooking without washing his hands. Therefore his utencils became contaminated, the plates he touched to serve food on, and oh the bread he decided to touch as well to prepare sandwiches with. Yum. I usually don't like writing reviews like this but I am generally concerned about the cleanliness and safety of others. We decided to not eat here and ended up going down the street to a slice of heaven, where, as we walked in the place was incredibly clean, and we witnessed people cleaning with sanitizer. i’m sorry I know this is supposed to be a local gem but if I could get zero stars I would.

Today I had one of the best cheeseburgers I've ever eaten, with a few home fries included to round out my lunch. Excellent service and value.
