Hubby ordered the beef stroganoff. Was expecting beef slices in a creamy savory sauce. What he got was a watery hamburger helper. Hadn’t been here in a while as we were very disappointed then. Decided to give it another shot, still not a fan like I use to be.

I was at Whistle Stop with a party of 6 on Friday, September 20th from about 6-8PM.
We sat in the back corner of the restaurant and had a friendly server. We asked for 3 separate tabs. Apparently throughout the evening, the kitchen became more and more backed up which resulted in service being slow. Our drinks took a little while. No big deal. We placed our food order and waited…and waited…and waited.
When our dinners came, 5 meals were delivered instead of 6. One member of our party ordered a cowboy burger which was nowhere to be found. (Whether it was taken or even made is an unsolved mystery) Instead of our party’s burger being remade immediately, 45 minutes passed by before he finally got his meal. We are talking about 45 minutes for a BURGER….Meanwhile, the rest of us are at the table finishing up. Ridiculous. Eventually he was provided with a dessert - Which I’m not sure was even complimentary.
Throughout the evening, there was no interaction with a manager, no indication the burger would be comped by the restaurant, and our server was left to handle our issue by himself. To his credit, he did the best he could and was checking on us frequently.
While the server was friendly and did his best to handle a difficult situation, and the larger kitchen issues are not his fault whatsoever, it’s interesting that all 3 tabs all happened to be $53.69 before tip when we finally left. What was the point of separate tabs? Interesting that the receipts we ended with didn’t show any sort of line item breakdown of the food either.
Mistakes happen everywhere. It’s how a business responds that defines them. Whistle Stop failed miserably. Luckily there are plenty of other great spots in the area so i won’t be missing Whistle Stop anytime in the years ahead :)

Service was good, food was absolutely terrible, we got the turkey dinner and the turkey was super dry and and zero seasoning, the stuffing looked like a block of jello! Also ordered Nanny’s chicken , sorry to say but it was terrible , I had to get the waitress to bring me ketchup and hot sauce for me to try and eat something because we were very hungry! It’s sad to pay that much for terrible food.

I haven’t been here in several years, but I stopped in last week with my 87-year-old mom who recently had extensive oral surgery. I was trying to figure out which menu items would be easy for her to enjoy. Our server was so kind and compassionate and helpful. Once we made a decision, she went right into the kitchen and discussed the situation with the cook so he was aware how soft the food needed to be for my mom. My mom’s meal came out perfect and our lunch was far more than I could have expected! Thank you Judith and the cook, we will be back this week.

While driving around looking for a lunch spot and not familiar with the area we came across the Whistle Stop Bar & Cafe and immediately greeted. The menu was not overwhelming and we started with a delicious chicken quesadilla. The highlight for us was the signature Whistle Stop Burger that was cooked to perfection, bacon crispy, and the addition of the Thousand Island Dressing was tasty. Also, the Ruben is a must have for those Ruben Connoisseurs out there, worth a special trip! I want to additionally add the waitress and staff were super friendly and made us feel comfortable and we truly enjoyed the experience!
Diamond in the rough. Best drinks and food in the area. Blows water front marrys out of the water and every other bar around. Can’t go wrong with any drink and every meal is perfect.

Great experience, they easily sat our 15 person party with a 30 minute notice of us coming. Even though they were very busy as expected for a Saturday night, all of our food came out at the same time and in a very timely manner. All in all great experience.

I have been to this restaurant in person before and thought the food was very good. On this occasion, I did take out, and the food left something to be desired. It's a small to medium-sized pub/restaurant, so the atmosphere is that jovial, friendly feel. The service is mediocre at best.
Parking: Small lot. I'm sure it's very difficult to find parking when they are busy, but I went early enough I did not have an issue.
Wheelchair accessibility: Has a real for those that are wheelchair bound.
