The food is great and weāve ordered takeout from here a few times, but we just had a very poor customer service experience. Willing to revise and amend this review if it is made right by the business.
Had a take out order for pick up, ordered a birria quesadilla, and birria burrito. Drove there to pick it up, drove all the way back home , open the bag, thereās no burrito. We called the restaurant to let them know, thereās no apology, they say we can come back and pick it up. Drive all the way back there, the place is empty, thereās no other orders in there. I show them the receipt and the server at the front tells the cook to just start making the burrito now even though I told her I was on my way. She said itās because she didnāt know it was in the burrito, even though she could easily looked it up or have asked me on the phone. no apology in person, no offer of anything on the house to make up for this error, which cost me a lot of time waiting and making two driving round trips.

It had been years since I last visited The Nexmex Thing, and I wasnāt even sure what to expect when I walked ināitās moved across the street since I was last there. Honestly, I wasnāt even hungry, mostly thanks to a stressful day at work. But Iām really glad I stopped in for lunch.
I ordered the grilled carnitas burrito, and it turned out to be absolutely delicious. From the first bite to the last, every layer of flavor came throughātender, flavorful pork, fresh toppings, and perfectly balanced seasoning. It was one of those meals where you keep eating not out of hunger, but because itās just that good. And yes, despite not feeling hungry at all, I ate the whole thing.
Iāll definitely be heading back soon. This place is worth rediscovering.

NexMex is good. We got a Birria burrito and a chicken quesadilla. Both were absolutely delicious. We have also gotten nachos, tacos and street corn here. They have a great horchata, too. Four stars because the flavor and/or seasoning of the dishes is inconsistent. Every third visit or so the meat is under-seasoned and the pork is a touch too dry.

Went to eat in person. We all enjoyed our food. Got burritos with beyond meat and grilled veg, nacho fries with no dairy, rice bowls and a passion fruit margaritas. They used to be very inconsistent but hopefully they got it together now. Was quiet when we went, service was decent.

Wife almost choked on a bone in her enchiladas... Why would a bone be in her enchiladas? I don't know. They gave us a $3 discount and didn't even sound concerned. Won't be going back. I have pictures but for some reason can't post them on this Google review page
Forget to make our food then blamed it on a door dash driver claiming they āstole itā. When I asked to remake it they told me it wasnāt ātheir problemā. The manager was the rudest person Iāve ever spoken to in my life (and thatās saying a lot). She hung up on me twice because I couldnāt understand how she expected me to just accept we werenāt getting an $89 order with no refund or explanation. Really unfortunate vibe cause the food is good, but personality and service is subpar and NASTY.
That was a Great Smash Burger š I highly recommend. Service was fast and friendly. Food was delicious š Thank you.
