The Skinny Pancake Peabody

Conveniently located in North Shore Mall, with direct access from outside. I had high hopes for The Skinny Pancake after the demise of The Magic Pan. Sadly, as I stepped inside my hopes were dashed. All I’d seen about this establishment had me expecting a “normal”, regular type restaurant. My guest & I immediately learned that there is no wait-staff. You place your order at the counter and they deliver it to your table. All the tables had numbers and you’re supposed to “magically”know when ordering, what table you’ll be at, instead like most places would do, give you a number when you place your order that you put on your table for them to find you. Drinks were given at counter where you order. In a “European Style”, the “cold” beverages were served room temperature with no ice. We asked for ice and were given 3 ice cubes which melted quickly, leaving us with warmer than desired drinks. Next issue, my guests food was served, followed by mine… 5 MINUTES LATER, and then a cold blueberry muffin 2 MINUTES AFTER THAT, & with a large chunk missing (shown in photo). No salt or pepper on table, very thin napkins. My All Day Burrito was essentially flavorless. On top of that, they charged me an extra $4.29 for meat that, according to menu, is included in the price (see menu photo). And, if all this wasn’t enough, throughout our time here we were victims of a large snowstorm of apparent large insulation particles continually falling around us from the open-air style ceiling. I feel I’m being overly generous with the 2 star rating. I don’t recommend this establishment, I doubt anyone would much enjoy it. Oh, don’t worry that they don’t take reservations. It was almost empty which, considering the time of day, should have been packed.

The entire staff were kind and friendly they really have good coffee options, the manager and two cashiers/ waitresses were courteous, caring, and provided top tier service. I would come here for the coffee through and through. thank you skinny pancake staff

Decided to eat oy
out in my car on this nice day on my lunch break. Waited for 45 minutes for my order, they had it ready in a bag with no name on it, meanwhile they are paying extra attention ti a couple that kept demanding different things and only had soup and fries, salad. I was sitting right in front of the help the whole time. Manager came along and when I told him what had happened, he seemed confused. Very, very poor communication among employees! NOT going back there anytime soon!

Food was decent. Service was terrible. Staff nowhere to be found. Almost left cause it felt like no one was there. Never go back to wait ten mins just to have someone acknowledge me and take my order

Good food. Absolutely horrendous service. It took 45 minutes for them to bring half the food we ordered to the table. The other half took another 20 minutes. They also messed up our order of bacon (gave 2 pieces in a dish that says “3 pieces of bacon”). The employees told us they were overwhelmed, but at the same time I watched 3 employees behind the counter doing nothing, and one of them consistently on his phone. These employees need to be trained or monitored. I wish I could take back the tip we gave before the food or service was provided.

Great food! I was brought the wrong order at first, but the server quickly made up for it and was so kind and apologetic; we're all human. I'm not crazy about crepes, but I will definitely eat them here. They are very good! Despite the order mishap, I still have to give 5 stars because of the food quality and customer service.

Tried Skinny Pancake a few weeks ago.Was able to get a gluten free crepe(oatbased),which was very good.Had strawberries on it and homefries.

This is a hidden gem!!!!!! We visited for the first time at Northshore mall and were blown away. The Smash Burger was perfectly cooked, juicy, and packed with flavor. The breakfast sandwich was hearty and delicious, and the French toast was next-level — soft, rich, and perfectly balanced.

Let’s talk drinks: the cinnamon French toast latte is a must-try (honestly unforgettable), and the iced lattes were smooth and spot-on. You can really taste the quality in everything — fresh ingredients, thoughtful flavors, and great execution.

Amazing food, fair prices, awesome service, and a great location. This place checks every box. We loved it and will absolutely be back.

The vibe is cozy, inviting, and perfect for a chill brunch or lunch date. Portions are generous, flavors are amazing, and it’s one of those places you keep thinking about after you leave.
