The only good parts of our meal were the rolls, chowder, and the service! Five out of six of our meals should have gone back - what a waste of money.

This is one of their $9.99 Specials! Cajun Shrimp Bowl! It was wicked good and will definitely order again until they don't have it anymore! Staff was great also!

Not quite as lively as the one in Weymouth but the staff is nice and pleasant for the most part. Could be a little bit more attentive with the checking the tables. I feel like the servers get a little distracted sometimes even tho it never really seems that busy. The hash is very good here though and also a big fan of their 'Irish' coffee.

We love going for breakfast on Sunday mornings! The food is excellent and the service is the best! Molly and Hillary as well as the other wait staff are friendly and very accommodating. A great place to eat!

I had a great lunch salad with a special friend, and a waitress who was attentive and nice and gave us time to visit. It was a quiet day, so that was possible.

It takes a lot for me to give a negative review as I like to focus on the positive, but honestly, this restaurant should be reported to the board of health. We went down to the John Carver inn to get out of the house during February vacation week and so my son could use the pool a few nights. A budget conscious vacation. My husband said that Hearth & Kettle was getting good reviews, so I went in with a good attitude. I was very hungry. The service was delightful, friendly and prompt. My husband got a fried fish platter which he said was a little bland but fine. It's hard to mess up fried food. My sons shrimp scampi was actually very good. My "Thanksgiving Turkey meal" was nearly inedible (and I really wanted to eat it I was starving.) It looked and tasted like a thanksgiving plate was made in a November then stuck in the freezer for 3 months with loose tinfoil covering it and then microwaved back to life. The greyish, gloppy gravy covered 3/4 of the plate making the plate look awful. The mashed potatoes and butternut squash were edible. Barely. I ate that quarter of the plate but asked for my money back which they were kind enough to give and the waitress was awesome. Overall, I would classify this restaurant as INCONSISTENT. Reading some other reviews some people have had good experiences. I think this restaurant is in dire need of a complete overhaul. There are lots of great Plymouth restaurants within walking distance of the John Carver... go to them.

4 out of 8 meals were wrong; and 2 of those buffalo Mac & cheese came out fridge cold! 1 of the omelette was remade and that still came out wrong! They overcharged for beers

We came while staying at the John Carver Inn. The convenience of the restaurant is excellent and the servers are nice. The food on the other hand is not so great. Do no, I repeat, do not order the pot roast. It's inedible. The egg and waffle sandwich was a hit and the stir fry was good. Probably wouldn't eat here again when there are so many good restaurants in Plymouth.

I had breakfast here with friends. The food was delicious, reasonably priced and good portion size. It was a chilly morning so they had the fireplace going which made for a charming ambiance.

Server was nice but the food was bland. I got a cup of corn chowder, right after I ordered it I heard a different server say “86 corn chowder it’s starting to get sour”.... after I had already eaten half the bowl. An hour later and I haven’t left the bathroom. I also got half a sandwich which tasted exactly like something I could’ve made at home. I ordered a bacon cheese burger to go and they messed it up twice, first they gave me chicken fingers and fries, then they gave me a plain cheeseburger. I noticed a few other tables complain. I saw 6 tables and 3 waitresses. Not sure what the problem was tonight but we won’t be back.

My wife and I went along with four other family members for Thanksgiving dinner. When we made the reservation they asked for a $50.00 deposit. Fair enough. After this experience it is clear that the deposit was to make us hesitate to leave once we got to the filthy rundown windowless room that we were expected to eat in. There was a crockpot without a lid sitting on a table at the front of the room filled with corn chowder. We were given dinner rolls straight from a plastic bag in a basket along with stale rock hard corn muffins. I guess we were expected to put these directly on the table since there were no plates. We did order soft drinks and three of us had wine. The waitress disappeared for about 15 minutes after our drinks were delivered. That was also ok as we were in no rush. When the waitress did reappear we all ordered the turkey dinner. Simple enough. 20 minutes later we did finally get our chowder. Stone cold! It was about 4 steps from the pot to our table so the delivery wasn't why it was cold. The next course was a salad that was delivered with 6 plates piled one on top of the other. The dressing was already on the salad so you can imagine what a mess it was as the waitress handed them to us from the stack. The salad was wilted and warm. To call it disgusting would be too kind. The turkey dinners arrived next. Stone cold to the point that the gray colored gravy was congealed on the turkey. It was clear that this food was plated a long time before it was delivered to us. The potatoes were filled with rock hard pieces and had absolutely no seasoning. The final insult was dessert. Pies with a crust that was so raw that it was gummy. The blueberry pie had absolutely no evidence of blueberries just blue glue filling. Suffice it to say that not much was consumed in the entire meal. The waitress seemed genuinely surprised that we ate so little. The total was an eye popping $288.00 for this horror show. We did tip the waitress 20% because I have worked in the restaurant business and would never punish a server for an incompetent owner. The ownership of this facility changed hands according to numerous signs posted around. I have never written a bad review of a restaurant before in my life because my family was in that business for 30 years. I don't do this lightly but this was just so bad that we spent most of the meal marveling at the incompetence that was going on around us. I have eaten for years in the hearth and Kettles in the area that are run by Catania group. They are not gourmet restaurants but they always deliver a solid home style meal. This location most certainly does not.

Yuck!!!!!! Absolute worst Thanksgiving meal ever. I don't even know where to begin. Cornbread was cold and stale. Salad was wilted. Corn chowder was bland, main course looked and tasted mass produced. Just thinking about it now, a few hours later, is actually making me feel a little ill. We had to ask for more water (the glasses were small and with all the ice only had a couple ounces of water) and the waitress brings one glass instead of refilling all three of our empty glasses. Maybe she was mad that we didn't order any of their overpriced alcoholic beverages. Speaking of overpriced, the price was several dollars more than advertised. Dirty plates were not cleared before each course was pushed at us. Clearly they wanted us in and out quickly so they could seat the next unsuspecting guests. It came with dessert but our waitress didn't offer it to us. We heard the other waitstaff listing the choices to their patrons so we asked for dessert. She looked surprised. Was it because we left food on our plates (I'm a lifetime member of the clean plate club but couldn't eat it all because it tasted so yucky). Did she think we were fat enough? We'll never know because we'll never be back. It's not the same Hearth & Kettle we once knew and loved. Apparently it's under new ownership and the only thing that's the same is the physical property.
