The place is nice, since new ownership came in it looks brand new.. fried fish , scallops, and clams are as good as any fried seafood joint in New England. Fair prices and open year round. I order here regularly never been disappointed.

This is a fresh seafood market with a live lobster tank and about 5 small tables if you want to eat there. Mainly delivery/ market I think. We ate there anyway. I had a 1/4lb lobster roll with fries and my mother had fried scallops and a salad. Both were very good and obviously fresh. I'd go back to get a couple lobsters or some fresh fish to go, but otherwise I'd just get it delivered.

I have been in the restaurant world 40 years owning numerous. I have loved fish n chips forever but could not find anyone who did it right until I found this gem by accident. The first time I was shocked by the amount of fresh cod perfectly fried and the fries and slaw was awesome. I wondered if they were consistent so I went back two weeks later. YES! OMG. Same amount of fish etc and perfect. So I went for lunch and got the fish sandwich.... YES. (so much cod). I went last week to try fresh cooked shrimp.... YES! So, consistency is spot on. Quantity spot on, quantity spot on. All I can say is go...today. To the owner: DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING. Jay Johnson

Food was all overcooked, greasey. I don't think they clean the oil in their fryers very often, all the breading was dark brown. The new ownets are not living up to the reputation Rock Bottom has built up over the years.

Fish sandwich was good but pretty pricey for a lunch item with fries . I also got a piece of cake that looked good but tasted more like it had been in the fridge for 3 weeks, like just not very fresh at all. Otherwise I think the food stays pretty consistent there over the 25+ years I've been going there when I can. The seafood is always fresh and I enjoyed the sandwich very much! Definitely a go-to for a family fish fry or seafood platter.

I highly recommend this place. If you're familiar with the traditional New England fried seafood joint, the kind of place with great lobster rolls and chowder, this is it. They're doing that perfectly. But here is the kicker: they've added to that a lot of newer style, fun stuff that you don't traditionally see at those places. They're doing all of it very well. It makes for a surprising menu. Some highlights:-coconut shrimp on the app menu. Excellent. Crunchy. Sweet dipping sauce.-chowder fries, app menu. Think of it as poutine's seaside cousin. Somehow it works. loved it.-lobster rangoon: what other seafood shack is doing this? They're great.Like I said, the basics are also great: chowder, fish n chips, broiled seafood, lobster rolls etc. There is limited indoor and outdoor seating. Also a fresh fish market if you prefer to take home fresh fish and prepare yourself.Excellent service.

More of a seafood market than a restaurant in my opinion but the food was delicious. We had the fried pickles, clams, and fish and chips. Everything was so tasty!

Very friendly staff! They were great and knowledgeable about my son's food allergies and knowing which items were gluten free. Food was average- very small portions. Root beer was delicious!

I've written several reviews on Yelp, and they're generally quite positive - I guess I've just been lucky with restaurants. Unfortunately, this one isn't. I spent $308 at Rock Bottom for 6 lobster rolls, 3 orders of fried clams, a quart of cole slaw and some fries. It took 3 calls to get through, but once connected, ordering was uneventful. When I got into the store to pick up the order, there was a lobster tank about 12' by 6' that didn't have any lobsters in it. Uh-Oh! There were small amounts of several varieties of fish and shrimp in the fish case display, and they appeared to be fresh, and there was no smell of anything but fresh fish - good! The order wasn't ready when it was supposed to be, and the lady in the front yelled at the guys in the back about the lobster that was supposed to be ready. The other parts of the order - the clams and the fries - started to come out, and there was about 10 minutes from when she started putting the order together until it was ready. When I got the order home about 8 minutes later, the fries and clams were cooled, the clams were small and not many; then we tried the lobster rolls. The lobster was cooked at least a day before and tasted as though it came out of a refrigerator and had been there for awhile. Not sure what was under it on the roll, but it wasn't something we wanted. The roll was not fresh and fluffy. My wife unfortunately found a hair in her mouth from her bite of one of the lobster rolls. I had been pining for a lobster roll since 2 days before when someone commented about the lobster rolls at the Lobster Hut. I opted for Rock Bottom because it was closer and had the highest Yelp review rating of all the places around. I was really sad that this mess was what I got after looking forward to it for so long. Their high rating on Yelp is left over from when the former owner had it until a year ago. He needs to get back in and help these guys restore it to what it used to be. I feel bad for them. There's a great opportunity there, and they're destroying the legacy they bought. I won't be back.
