I realize it was Memorial Day and the place was busy but there were always a couple of open tables. A great view but the BBQ was more like pot roast, with very little smokiness to it; the sauces were watered down; after waiting for our food what was certainly ample time, when I tried to catch the waitress’s eye, she abruptly turned hurriedly and entered the kitchen, then came out and told us “the kitchen is very backed up” - I replied “I guess it wasn’t when those folks, those folks and those folks, who all were seated after, us got their food” (lady, tell me you oopsed, don’t lie to me!). Finally, my buddy asked for fries and slaw, got only slaw on his plate and reminded the server about the fries…which were then delivered cold after we had both finished our meals.

We had a delicious dinner after the Plymouth Waterfront Festival. We found 2 seats at the bar. Ryan, our bartender was great and friendly. It was very busy, but we weren't rushed. I got the Fried Scallop platter and Rich got the Scallop "poorboy" special. The scallops on both meals were plump, and plentiful. French Fries were hot and delicious. We also got coleslaw. Very very good. We shared a side of cornbread with maple butter that melted in our mouths. Kim, one of the owners chatted with us a bit and was delightful. We were very happy with our food and dining experience and will definitely return. The view was beautiful. This restaurant is right on the water and very easy to get to in downtown Plymouth.

Get the pitmaster... It's a sand you'll eat with a fork and knife. Love the season fries. Good chowder. Terrible Mac and cheese. It's not on the level of a great smoke house but good restaurant that serves smoke house type meats. Not the type of place I would order a lb of brisket... Get the pitmaster...
Food was not good. Prime rib special tasted off, asked for medium, got bloody in the middle and room temp., ate 2 bites. Did not even bring leftovers home for our dogs. Brisket and Mac n cheese were room temp. Dry. Thinking they pre-cook and keep under heat lamps. Seeing the wait staff/bus boys/girls toss drink residue into the harbor from surrounding tables was not good. Will never go back.

This is one of my all time favorite restaurants in Plymouth and the South Shore. I have been coming since day one and believe this may be my second review. However, last night was so great I wanted to revisit my review. We had the dog friendly table which we loved!!!! We had guests from Maryland who LOVED the food. Everything was great from the food to the service. Thank you Surfside!
