An update from my previous review. FOOD: The brussel sprouts, cornbread and scallops on rice were all outstanding. The bolognese was excellent also. I wanted to try the coconut shrimp but they were out. SERVICE: One server had to attend to the entire restaurant, which, although not large, was almost an unmanageable job for one person as most of the tables were full. This is not the only restaurant in Plymouth suffering from a shortage of workers. Patrons seemed understanding and respectful. My comment here is plan to take your time as this is not a place to grab a quick meal. ATMOSPHERE: Loud. Very, very loud. During my first visit here it was not busy, however this most recent one found the restaurant almost completely full by 7pm and we could not hear each other talk. Personally I don't enjoy having to shout during a meal so any repeat visits for me I'll try times when they are not busy as the food is truly outstanding. They do have a few outdoor seats, which are in a line facing the street which might be a better option for 2 people. I question if the same server will also have to cover the outside seating in addition to inside, which would be challenging.

We got the Southern Panzanella and the Miele. SO good. Our server’s name was Amy and she was super kind and attentive. She gave us some good ideas for people watching after dinner. Will definitely be back again. And super clean bathroom. Tables can be wheelchair accessible but not the bathrooms.

The food was delicious! We had a margarita pizza, the arugula salad and panzanella salad plus the Brussel sprouts, arancini, and scallops apps. All excellent. Service was great. Wine pours were generous and good beer selection. Very enjoyable meal!!

Went with a friend last Wednesday night. Food and service were wonderful. Sat at the bar, wasn’t busy when we got there but as it got later in the night it filled up quick! Drinks were delicious, but on the pricey side. I got the John Day, it was excellent and my friend got the TNC Mule, she enjoy that, but was very sweet. The food was excellent. We got the Arancini first, it was good but didn’t taste much of any lobster, but they were cheesy and the pea purée was a nice touch. After that we opted for the scallops dish, that was an excellent dish! It was scallops with grilled asparagus, balsamic, smoked bacon & risotto. Looking forward to going back, and trying more items on the menu!

We are so pleased to see the Thirty-Nine is back and open after the long months of COVID-19. We had the Pasta Bolognese and their version of eggplant parmigiana. Both were great, just as we remembered. Also, great mixed drinks, and an extensive selection of beer on tap. If you are looking for great food in Plymouth, you can't miss at Thirty-Nine.

We were walking around Plymouth deciding where to eat and we sat outside this restaurant trying to make a decision when the bartender came out and convinced us to come inside and try their food. I'm so glad they did! The food is amazing. We ordered the arugula salad, scallops and Parmesan dish and it was so delicious. It was the perfect amount of food to split between two people, and the cocktails were great. If you're going to go anywhere in downtown Plymouth, this is the place!

It's only been 12 hours and I'm ready to go back. The Mafaldi was one of the best meals I've ever had and my wife's pizza was outstanding too. Staff was knowledgeable and super friendly. Outstanding, local beer selection! If you're a craft beer fan, you will love this place. Great selection including Vitamin Sea, Untold and Second Wind (brewery is about 200 steps around the corner). I noticed a number of great bourbons behind the bar as well. I'm going to become a regular at this place and suggest you do the same.

I felt invisible to the staff. Service was not great, forgot drinks we ordered and took an eternity to stop by. I'm not an assertive person so I take some of the blame but this was no fun.

Would be better with a consistent menu but the guest taps are good while they last
