Lovely wait staff, delicious side salad with lots of greens, carrots, ham, bacon and cheese, and main course of salmon, mashed potatoes and broccoli was cooked exactly how I like it. Plus I got to take some for later. A pity we are leaving tomorrow. Ptown is a very special place for us.

My partner and I, both POC, were looking forward to getting brunch here for our last day in Provincetown. Little did we know that we would be ignored for at least ten minutes at the counter. But once a white couple had entered, they were immediately met and seated. This exclusion, whether intentional or unintentional, has soured our view of this establishment, and we don’t recommend other people of color to come.

Always look forward to stop by when in town. Margarita at the bar is the best! She's friendly, attentive and a great bartender. We've always enjoyed the food and cocktails.

The lobster rolls were delicious as always! Our waiters (yes more than one!) were attentive and friendly. Husband's Bloody Mary was loaded with flavor. Carrot cake for dessert=yummy. We dine there (first as Bayside Betsy, now Bay Cafe) every year and we are happy that the food and service are still outstanding.

Seating staff was very rude and off putting to the point that we declined service and walked out.

UPDATE RESPONSE TO OWNER-
The abrasiveness of your response verifies my initial impression. Anyone reading this comment or your comment can easily see the poor customer service quality that you clearly employ. I shouldn’t as the customer have to explain this to you, google requires a response in all categories. We didn’t feel welcomed to eat your food. 0/10 customer service -100/10 and there really wasn’t an atmosphere it was dead inside. Words of wisdom for you: don’t aggressively come for people who give you a negative accurate review of their experience. Instead use it as a training opportunity for your staff:

TL;DR - With so many options in P-town, don't waste time or money here... it was an embarrassing horror show that isn't worth spending a dollar to see. Complete amateur hour with horrible food and worse drinks. It was surreal, like being on that old TV show "Boiling Point" except we lost money instead of winning it.

-On Service-
We made a reservation for eight (an unnecessary formality we learned on arrival), and when we arrived, the woman who sat us seemed to have never used the system before. She then told us the largest table they had only sat six and made two of our party sit at an adjacent table five feet away. Why let us make a reservation for that size?! When we sat, it was clear that we could fit eight chairs at the table, and after awkwardly wondering, "Should we?" we did it and it was fine.

When we arrived there was no one there, and in about 20 minutes every table was full and the staff seemed completely overwhelmed. The poor girl behind the bar couldn't make those horrible drinks fast enough, and there was another girl bringing out three tables' drinks at a time. Everything took forever and the chaos was distracting.

Once nightfall came, the LED lights under our umbrella made it feel like we were eating in a parking lot.

-On Food and Drink-
We ordered cocktails, a few vodka martinis and some margaritas... Not one of the dirty martinis had olive juice so we ordered some. The margaritas were made with neon-colored sour mix and undrinkable, if they had tequila at all. A young lady came to fill our waters. In doing so, she DUMPED (not exaggerating) water all over the table... and LEFT IT THERE! We had to ask for napkins.

The food... wow. Not one dish arrived hot, and from what I could see, this was a theme as food passed by our table. My nearly $20 chicken caesar arrived to the table with a packet of Ken's dressing, as if I'd ordered it from an airport grab-n-go fridge. I mean, the least they could do was toss it in the back. The only good thing about that was it became a running joke for the remainder of the trip. I guess the shrimp cocktail was fine?

Inexpensive though very average breakfast food, neither bad nor great. Beware the latte they make is mostly milk and almost no coffee. When I mentioned they confirmed that's how they made it and had to bring an additional espresso shot (and still was quite a weak latte when compared to any latte you'd have anywhere else). I wouldn't recommend this place. There are so many better places in P-town.

I ordered a mocha and lobster burrito. It took 30 minutes for coffee to arrive and it wasn’t what I ordered. The lobster burrito took an hour to come out, I was about to leave. One of the staff was actually somewhat helpful but the rest seemed very inexperienced and mentally checked out. The food was fine, but not worth the wait. Only come here if you’re not in a rush.
