Fantastic. Great food, ambiance, and service. What they do, they do well. Top tier in Ptown. Lobster risotto, roasted chicken, shrimp appetizer, tres leche, all delicious. Don't hesitate.

Huge disappointment. There was 8 of us celebrating a birthday. We were really looking forward to eat here. Whe we got there the waiter told us it was their last night before closing for the season and they were out of all the main course items except for the chicken and the vindaloo dish. The food came haphazardly and some people had to wait for their appetizers while other people got their whole meal. The chicken main course was very dry with no flavor. People at the table did like the shrimp vindaloo. Salads were OK at best. Waitstaff was pleasant and seemed to be embarrassed about what was going on.

Great food. Excellent staff. Fantastic location. One of the best in Provincetown! Would come back again in a flash!

Such a hidden GEM! First time there, and it won't be the last. Great evening, we ate outside, the service was great, the cocktails were enjoyable, and food was perfect. The tratufata scallops were incredible and the corn appetizer was an in-season treat! Just watch out for that first step going inside - it's a doosey.tripadvisor.com/ShowUser…

The food was great. Service was spot on. Friendly, attentive and on top of it. It's a charming place wether you sit inside or out

Having been to Helltown Kitchen half a dozen times, I’ve experienced the consistency of service and great food (as well as tried nearly every dish on the menu). In a town where dinners can be pricey, this is one were the value and quality are there. For example, the lobster or scallop risotto are generous portions of two of their most delicious dishes. My favorite is the Caribbean Seafood Stew. A huge plate of fish, shrimp and vegetables over basmati rice and a milky curry that’s not overpowering. Hands-down one of the best desserts in town, their Mexican cheesecake is more than meets the eye and an instagram worthy moment. Traditional cheesecake wrapped in a fried churro dough, with a sweet strawberry cotton candy the server then “melts” with a heavenly dulce de leche caramel sauce. Make it a must go while you’re in Ptown.

I just stopped by for a wine and dessert after dinner. Wonderful atmosphere. The deconstructed strawberry shortcake was probably an 8/10 for me - nice and light, but the seasoning was a little Christmasy. I’ll come back and try more of the menu.

We were there with friends, it was ok… not more. Chicken was tasteless, kale and aragula salad were just ok. I don’t think will come back. Ambiance and service was

Our meal at Helltown Kitchen was exquisite! From our freshly prepared meals to the kind staff to the lovely outdoor dining space, everything was wonderful. Loved the attention to detail, especially the green motif of the benches, cushions, coffee mugs, napkins, and dessert plate. We found the use of the various shades of green quite calm and relaxing. A small detail, but we appreciated it. What a perfect way to end our day in Provincetown.

The waiters were wonderful (10/10). While the ambiance was great the food wait times were well over an hour.

In a town of startlingly mediocre restaurant food, Helltown Kitchen is a fabulous exception. The key is that they actually use fresh ingredients and cook the dishes right when you order. Everything is exceptionally fresh and delicious. Kudos folks!

Helltown Kitchen was a perfect place to end an exciting day. The setting is very pretty with outdoor seating along a wide brick alley. Lots of comfortable benches and chairs. There were full length French doors connecting inside to out. We started with an asparagus appetizer which was delicious. The asparagus was served cold on a balsamic glaze with feta, roasted cherry tomatoes, pepitas and 1/2 of a fresh fig. The photos I've included don't do the main course justice - in fact we chose our dishes after seeing what the women at the next table were eating - it looked and smelled so good. Three of us had the vindaloo, either shrimp or pork. The fourth had Pescado Ecocado - cod poached in a coconut milk sauce seasoned with citrus and other spices. The vindaloo was mildly spicy and very creamy. The pescado had a variety of flavors and textures that made a warming dish. We had both white and regular sangrias. Both were great and held their flavor as the ice melted. The staff were all unusually friendly. In P-town restaurant staff can be off putting. Though we walked in without a reservation on a busy night we were surprised to be welcomed early and seated right away. The waiters were friendly and helpful. Our only criticism is that the menu is limited. It worked well for one of our group who is pescatarian and another who eats gluten free. But we would have liked more choices. We eat on the outer Cape regularly and were really happy to find a restaurant where we'd look forward to returning.

We went twice in three days this year. Favorite restaurant in Provincetown; small and eclectic menu, excellent service, relaxing and elegant atmosphere and dog-friendly. A win-win-win. Look at the photos: we loved the avocado crab salad as an appetizer (I would have that one for lunch!). I tried both the lobster risotto on one night and the black rice scallop risotto on another instance - can't decide on which one I love more. My dinner partner had the steak (in a coconut sauce - superhealthy) and the seafood medley. All cooked to perfection and very recommended.Bottom line: this is our very favorite restaurant in P-town. 5 stars for food, atmosphere, service, comfort, privacy and elegance. And superb staff and owner. I suspect one of the reasons we'll be back to Ptown next year, will be to dine at Helltown.

Goid vibe, friendly & knowledgeable portugese waiters, reasonable food and cocktails, the cuban chicken is an insult to havana. Dry like a dune. expensive.
