We ate here two times last week.
It was so good the first time, we did not want to chance another restaurant! What really made our visits memorable was our server, Larasa. She not only was efficient at her job, but her personality and banter made our experience most enjoyable.

Nice diner on the main street. The fries were great. Many options were out because they were closing for the season, but we didn't want much off of it anyway.

Went here for the first time the other day with my girlfriend, sister and her partner. I ordered clam strips that came with fries. The fries were warm but also tasted kind of cold like they weren’t cooked properly. My clam strips were rubbery and extremely difficult to chew as if I was eating a steak. My girlfriend also wasn’t blown away by her shrimp tacos. Not sure what the other food tastes like but I personally wouldn’t pay to go there again from my experience.

lo Aoo

we had an unpleasant experience with the waiter regarding tipping. We chose to customize our tip instead of using the suggested amount and left a 16% tip, which we believed was reasonable. However, the waiter became visibly upset, insisting that a 20% tip is the minimum in the U.S. He even made comments about being ‘cheap’ and implied we should tip more if we intended to return. This interaction left us feeling uncomfortable, as we were unaware that tipping 20% had become an expectation.

Had a great dinner!! Speedy and friendly service. The food was great and reasonably priced. We tried the lobster Rangoon. Yummy! The turkey club was enough for 2-3 meals. It was a perfect sandwich. The French fries were hot and crispy. The ice tea kept flowing. The apple crisp was a delicious way to end the meal. The hostess was warm and friendly. And our server was fantastic. This placed helped get the vacation back on track after an absolutely awful visit to the tourist trap lobster pot. The mayflower was pump your fist in the air great. I want to try more things… and I want more crab Rangoon. I’m so happy.

Enjoyed our first visit to The Mayflower. Warm and welcoming staff and a broad diner-like menu with a focus on local cuisine. Best fish and chips I’ve had in P-town.

Disclaimer: my last visit to The Mayflower was in October 2018; I haven't been able to get to the Cape since then. I go there at least two times when I spend my week in Provincetown. I tell anyone visiting P-Town that if they want the best lobster or steamers, go right to The Mayflower, do not pass "Go," do not collect $200! I love having my ritual chicken-lobster and am looking to my next meal(s) there in 2024. I love the old-timey atmosphere and the always excellent service. I thank the Universe for The Mayflower, the most underrated restaurant on Cape Cod.
