Limited menu but what we had, grilled octopus, arugula salad, carbonara was excellent. One note: bring cash, they don't take cards and don't tell you that till it's time to pay.

A very sweet Italian restaurant on the West End. Very enchanting dining room, we had a cozy table in the back room. Friendly service and delicious food, nice portions. Cash Only!! We made a reservation by phone, however they neglected to tell us Cash Only.

We had a wonderful dinner and evening at Sal’s. All the staff were attentive and so willing and happy to please. The food was excellent. In particular food limitations and health issues for myself required the chef to create a meal that was amazing and perfect for me. A big thank you to Sam and all the folks at Sal’s!Dietary restrictions: Required a dish with no protein which was beautifully created.

Easily the best service I've ever gotten at a restaurant. Ogi was our waiter and made us feel welcome and cared for, and the whole staff was incredibly attentive. The food was delicious, it's a relatively small menu but you cannot go wrong. Best dining experience in P town.

I don't know which thing about this place bugs me more: the fact that they charge forty bucks for a dish of decent but unremarkable orecchiete with sausage, or that — in one of the most expensive resort towns in the northeast, in 2023 — it's cash only. Four stars for the ambiance (that is, if you're able to score a table outside), three stars for that decent but unremarkable food and competent if slightly rushed service, and zero stars for the prices and cash policy. We'll stick to Liz's Café and Ciro & Sal's and won't be back.

It was the best restaurant experience we had in Ptown. Food was fantastic and service was impeccable! The owner refusing to provide any alcohol beverages to a super annoying drunk group was just right. (The group was super obnoxious but she still dealt with them with respect.)

Sal’s has significantly increased their prices. It’s true, however, the service is impeccable and the food is delicious. Not to mention the amazing, understated, warm and cozy seaside ambiance! We had the shrimp puttanesca and pork tenderloin which were both executed perfectly. Both entrees were pricey at 40. each. However, we were given a complimentary appetizer— Grilled octopus and house made chocolate sea salted fudge after dinner. That is very rare and unheard of in most establishments. It was greatly appreciated and made us feel valued and welcome. We will return.

Excellent dinner, fantastic ambience.I try to get there whenever i'm in Ptown. It's tough sometimes because a lot of people want to be there when they're in Ptown, but if you can, you've gotta go. Consistently great food. Eggplant parm--I know- a staple like eggplant parm-is just delicious.IYKYK

Rustic atmosphere right on the beach in Provincetown, awesome food. We had the best waiter. Loved the low-key casual atmosphere and sitting outside.

I struggle a lot with this review because we had a spectrum of experiences with this restaurant. I think with the prices compared to other places in the area, there’s little room for tolerating food being too salty or a grumpy host. As noted in other reviews, no online reservation system, cash only.We had a reservation for a party of 5, upon arrival, one of our people had to find an ATM to get cash so we were hoping to take our child in first as it was already 7pm and he was very hungry. We were also ready to start with some drinks. The hostess didn’t care if the child was waiting in the cold or hungry, everyone had to be there. Not a great start. The setting inside is very “cozy” / cramped. There was complimentary pasta tossed in oil and bread, which was nice. For non alcohol drinkers, unfortunately, there is nothing other than water and sparkling water. Found this very odd given the new generation is more into being healthy and the sobercurious movement. But guess this place is more old school.Food - octopus was great, think pairing it could be paired with something better than hummus, vongole was delicious, shrimp pasta was spicy and super salty, baked white fish with linguine was also good, and orecchiette was not great because I tasted mainly olives. We really liked our waiter, I don’t know his name but he gave us complimentary meatballs! I didn’t like the gaminess from the veal but the rest of the table enjoyed them. Also received fudge as complimentary dessert.

Unfortunately we didn't get to enjoy this quaint and off the beaten path restaurant. The hostess was so incredibly rude, and unwelcoming, we were told to leave. Yes, a 4 month reservation over in 15 minutes. Apparently you're allowed 1.5 hours to eat...then you're expected to leave. We didn't order our meals in enough time to fit this schedule. The hostess asked why we hadn't ordered our entrees and then informed us of the strict time limit. We were told we didn't fall in line and could leave. Took our menus and our waitress said we were no longer welcome to stay. Literally kicked to the curb and our waitress was out $$. She looked scared when we mentioned someone in our party ran to grab cash. Cash only establishment. 20+ years going to the fabulous restaurants in ptown, this was shocking. Spend your money somewhere else that appreciates your business.

this restaurant is one that is faced about and i just don’t get it. one nice thing is that they allow small dogs. the outside is very cozy and our waiter was wonderful. he was a little slow but he was handling all of the outside tables so patience was needed. when you are seated they give you focaccia bread and they will refill it which is wonderful. we ordered the special which was burrata on top of a eggplant romanesco which was good but burrata is something that is very difficult to mess up. for entrees we ordered the cauliflower caesar and the chicken parmigiana. one other thing that is wonderful is that if you say you are sharing they will split the order into two plates and the portions were big. the cauliflower caesar was a regular caesar salad with shaved cauliflower and we felt that it was very bland. there were no croutons which the salad was heavily missing and they were very light on dressing. the parmigiana was also not outstanding. the sauce on the pasta was very loose and therefore it left the pasta bland. the parmigiana itself had good flavor but there was not enough cheese or sauce for the chicken. at the end of the meal they give you complimentary chocolate fudge because they do not have a dessert menu and it is very good, the best thing we ate there. not to say i wouldn’t go back because it was good but i was expecting great from the reviews and talk in town. they are also extremely overpriced for the quality of their food. all appetizers are $20 and all entrees are $40 with the exception of the lobster alla vodka.

My partner is from northern Italy, so choosing an Italian restaurant for dinner is a tall order. She described Sal’s as “the best pasta she’s had in the states.” The atmosphere was cozy, the menu was perfectly simple, and the service prompt and kind.Important to know before you go: cash only, reservations required. Just deal with it, it’s worth it.

Went to Sal with a few friends. We have dined there in the past and had friends in town we wanted to bring there. We will never go back.I had one of the worst dining experiences of my life. We were spoken to extremely rudely by the owner/hostess. We started off by ordering drinks and appetizers with our waiter. We were going to have those and then order entrees after. We were approached very intensely by the owner who pointed her hand at one of us and said “what are you having for your entree?” She was met with silence and odd looks as we tried to figure out who she was and why she was demanding that we order entrees. I said “we’re going to have drinks and appetizers for now.”. Our group hadn’t decided on entrees. This woman had quite a reaction to that. She started angrily collecting our menus and shouting that we had a half hour to eat our appetizers and drinks and then we had to leave. She stormed off and we all stared with our mouths agape. Very condescending and rage-full. One of the strangest scenes I’ve ever witnessed. We were pretty shocked since we were up until that point having a lovely evening with friends.Anyway- I will tell you that we wanted to walk out but decided to stay and try the food. I regret it. It was fine but nothing special. The cocktails are straight up bad. For what you pay here I expect a half way decent drink and meal but you can get that at many other places in Ptown. Not here. Everyone at the table was disappointed and disgusted with the service obviously. At the end of dinner I asked to speak with the owner who had spoken to our table quite rudely. I wanted to politely express that the way she had approached our table was pretty hurtful and left the group feeling unsettled. I was about to apologize for any misunderstanding and she cut me off and started yelling. I ended up just laughing and walking away. Wild. Kind of hilarious honestly for here to have the reactions she did. Seems like every night is a stressful one at Sals. We will skip in the future and enjoy ourselves somewhere else in town with great food, ambience, and service.
