Extremely poor service. Saw people walk out because they never got waited on. Food was mediocre. Not impressed. Would I eat here again or recommend??? Probably not.

This was my first visit to Surf Club and it was very hit-or-miss. We walked in and there was only one other family in the whole restaurant despite the view and windy weather driving people inside. The waiter did not take orders on a cashier book and instead opted to remember everything, which was impressive, but he forgot my order of Wellfleet oysters. The NE clam chowder, Cape Cod Reuben, fried scallop sandwich were all excellent, but the Portuguese kale soup was watery and had almost no sausage in it, and the lobster in their mac n' cheese tasted very fishy and off. Although I am only here visiting family, I don't think we'll be back

The only good thing about this place was the view, service was awful our hostess didn't come out for awhile, very short with us, cold and unfriendly. Don't recommend, go to the Lobster Pot instead

It was so perfect to have lunch here as we waited for our whale watching tour. The ambiance was just perfect as we sat outside on the deck, enjoyed a Froze, shrimp cocktail, crabcakes, cod fish sandwich, and the most delicious lobster BLT. A BLTs is my favorite down food and adding lobster to it was divine. Food was a 5, ambiance a 5, and the service was good but needed a more friendly touch. Enjoy ! ~ NINI :)

We were hesitant to try it out, Friday night and only a few tables filled... that should be unusual in P Towne. Well our server took over 15 minutes to get our drinks, was not friendly. We sat outside and she seemed irritated she had to serve us outside. My significant other had a lobster roll which he said tasted like can tuna, was not good. Dry roll. I had the beef tips which were good. We only had one cocktail since she never asked if we needed anything , just brought the check. The patio area was filthy and tables hadnt been cleaned, when we left the young hostess gal who originally sat us, was sitting at a table on her phone and didnt even thank us or say goodbye. We shouldve read other reviews first but since it was on the pier we figured it would be good, not at all... Save time and money... GO DIRECTLY TO THE LOBSTER POT!

It was a rainy morning but it cleared up midday so we sat outside for a snack. Got the calamari, which was good, not great, and enjoyed the view. The calamari was straightforward - no peppers or mini octopus, but tasted fresh and crispy. Worth it for the view of the beach, boats and people watching on the pier!

The person I was with had a veggie burger and liked it. I ordered a lobster roll. What a waste of money. First a hot one arrived which I didn’t order. Then the cold one arrived. Big pieces with no flavor. Tasted like it was frozen. No mayonnaise at all. Three hairs on my plate which I told the waiter about. They did nothing about it. Ask for Water never got it.Atmosphere was terrible. Seated by the road. An entire area in the back was closed because they said it was just for people who had drinks.

I came into this restaurant out of the pouring rain, they were very nice and immediately seated us, pulling up extra chairs for our two extra. I ordered the “cape cod rueben” which was cheesy fishy goodness, it tasted amazing and was a great meal to warm me up on a cold day.

The Surf Club was absolutely awful while managing to be outlandishly expensive. Everything - and I mean everything- was straight out of a food service bag or box, microwaved and thrown a plate. Avoid this place at all costs.

I hate leaving poor reviews. As a former restaurant employee myself, i know how difficult the business is, and I am very patient with even serious problems. But The Surf Club isn't even trying to be mediocre. And it's one thing to charge small prices for subpar food, and quite another thing to be charging huge prices for awful food. Let's start with our appetizer, wings. The price was $18. For wings. Steep right? But hey, it's a tourist town. Things are expensive. Our server brought us out the plate, which had six pie-packaged chicken wings drowned in sticky, gloppy sauce, and a tiny plastic cup of blue cheese. A haphazard garnish of two or three wilted sticks of celery and two carrot strips accompanied the chicken. The wings were lukewarm, gristly, mushy, and awful. And did i mention there were SIX of them? For $18? Okay, so maybe wings aren't their thing. Fair enough. For our entrees, we had a Caesar salad with blackened tuna, a Caesar with chicken, Chicken Marsala and crab cakes. The tuna was obviously a good service product, pre-cooked and came out cold. We're feet from the ocean, and the tuna was frozen and worse, pre-cooked. And there MIGHT have been an ounce of tuna. The price? Nearly $30. The chicken on the Caesar was, once again, a pre-cooked product with fake grill marks. The Chicken Marsala consisted of two overly seasoned, once again frozen and pre-cooked breasts on angel hair with no sauce whatsoever - for $26. The crab cakes (actually an appetizer) were dry, tasteless, and the two sad little cakes were each about the size of a half dollar, served on a plate with a couple leaves of wilted iceberg and a tired slice of tomato, with a plastic cup of "remoulade" for $22! There could not have been more than $2 or $3 in food cost on the plate. Servers were doing the best they could, but were clearly completely inexperienced. Certainly not a sin, but an establishment charging nearly fine-dining prices should have, at the least, well-trained staff. The Surf Club has one of the best, if not THE best view in P-Town. It is an absolute crime that this location is being wasted on such horrible food. Even a modicum of effort could see this place packed every night of the week. My guess is that The Surf Club in its current iteration will not last. It was nearly empty at 7:00 on a Friday night in August, which should have been all the warning we needed. But now we know why. Please, avoid this restaurant at all costs, and save yourself the pain of a very expensive and inedible meal.
