I used to come here a lot but they have gone down hill. The old guy is downright rude and ignores you. I stood there for a good 5 mins while he gave me a dirty look and walked away to go clean. The other 2 ladies had their back to me and finally realized I was standing there. Instead of walking up to me the older lady screams YEAAA?! The middle aged lady mopping the floor said something in Vietnamese put down the mop to come grab me a premade sandwich not saying a word to me. No she did not wash her hands. The sandwiches are premade and it is soggy by the time you get it. I asked for hot peppers she grabbed the sandwich and walked to the register. I said again I want hot peppers please. She points to something green in the bag and says YEAH! I get home guess what no pepper she pretended to point to the cucumber. I live close by but refuse to give this place any more business and now I will also refuse to give the Dorchester location any business. The proper greeting is hello not screaming YEAH!

At one point, I came everyday for beef sandwich with my coworker when the younger lady was there, service was great .... My issue is when the guy is there, he makes premade sandwiches, overcharges me, I didn't realize one time he charge me 25$ for something that should have been 14$. He needs to make sandwiches on the spot IDC if it's easier for him, you make sandwiches for a living quit acting like it's hard ... I'll never return ... and charges me extra when I ask for extra BO like seriously Ill pay if I'm asking for more meat but BO?

Never, Ever, Go here!!!!! I saw the lady worker opening all the che containers, sticking her fingers inside each one, and tasting it to see if it’s stale, or if it’s still good to sell. I wanted to vomit just seeing this.

Horrible. The guy did not toast my bread like I ask him to, and he did not cut the bread and have like I asked him to. The cashier didn’t know how to separate orders , I asked him 3 times

A regular customer here until this happened and will never go back again. Got two sugar cane drink and witness how terribly & disgustingly the owner (guy) made the drink. He reused processed & waste sugar cane, not fresh one. The liquid is grayish then got darker afterward. I waste $$ for two cups of trash. Ppl be aware.

One of my favorite stops in Boston to load up on delicious Vietnamese goodies. Their hot food selection is amazing especially their rice noodles with marinated meat in their special fish sauce. Their fresh sugar cane juice and Vietnamese coffee is delicious as well. Plus their specialty banh mi is packed with goodies. I always recommend buying their marinated cooked meat to bring home to pair with your noodles, rice, or sandwiches. This place is such a gem !

Fast and friendly service. The sandwiches are delicious. Our favorite is the beef and tofu. IMHO best in the state. The grab to go food are authentic and good as well. Highly recommended.

Flavor of sandwiches is great but it was very cold and that made it much less pleasurable to eat

I basically eat here on a weekly basis lol. I've been maybe 20 times over the years, but finally reviewing now! Average rating came out to a 4.4, but rounding up to a 5. This time, my partner and I ordered BBQ beef and tofu banh mi's -TASTE: 5/5 - these flavors never get old for me. I like to pair the lighter taste of tofu with the perfectly complementary flavors of pickled daikon, cilantro, spicy jalapeños, homemade mayo, and savory fish sauce. Chef's kiss! The BBQ beef is perfectly balanced, and tied with tofu for my favoriteTEXTURE: 4/5 - the crunch of the baguette, along w the freshness of the veggies is too good. I could've sworn Ba Le used to offer marinated tofu in addition to the usual fried tofu? Only other note is that the baguettes can start getting stale, depending on the time of day you visit!PRICE: 5/5 - so affordable for a quick lunch or dinner. The prices have very slowly raised from $5 to ~$7 for banh mi, but ya still can't beat itSERVING SIZE: 4/5 - sometimes the baguette length varies, but the overall banh mi remains satisfying and satiating SERVICE: 4/5 - I rarely have to wait in line, and usually get my order quick!ATMOSPHERE: 4/5 - Ba Le is conveniently located inside of Kam Man and, although much smaller than the Dorchester location, gives me the same welcome feeling TAKEOUT: 4/5 - just a warning that the flaky baguette can get messy lolPARKING: 5/5 - the Kam Man parking lot is tight and often packed, but usually guaranteed a spot!

Not the original dorchester one. The bread was undercooked and the fillings aren't fresh and they don't give you as much.

Its second location does not have the extensive selections that its main as store but your basics are here. If you wanted anything from the main store call ahead they will bring to the Quincy store for pickup . The main plus to this location is not having to worry about parking . A definite plus.

This is located inside right in front of kam man grocery store. Friendly staff but disappointing. Both our banh mi bread was not even crispy.
