We had a great time here! We did the hotpot and got one spicy broth, a mild broth, and the piggy broth. The flavors were great - loved that the spicy actually had heat! For items, we got the meat platter, the veggie platter, the noodles, and lamb and beef platter. Everything was fresh and delicious. we also got the steamed egg (so good) and the teriyaki chicken to grill. Loved getting to create our own sauces (it was a fun adventure). Will def be back.

i used to come here pretty often when this place was AYCE hotpot & sushi. i stopped coming here once they switched to kbbq and no more AYCE. as many of these reviews have stated, the food is on the pricier side, but if the food was actually good and quality matched, i wouldn't have anything bad to say. very small portions. the renovated place is nice, the food on the other hand, it was definitely better when it was AYCE. generally, AYCE food is not as great, however, this place had nothing special to offer at all. maybe just paying for the food presentation and decor. i could have been more satisfied, say at Spring shabu in allston/brighton. sushi was bland. kbbq was not a good representation of what it should be like at all. i would've been better off starting up the griddle at home and butter panning. it was the price of fine dining WITHOUT THE FINE DINING.

I finally get chance to check out this duo hotpot-Korean bbq place with some friends. We have 8 ppl total and they put us at a booth so it is pretty complicated, packed and challenging for everybody to enjoy the food. We ordered the luxury set and they brought everything out at same time so def have no spaces on the table for us to comfortably enjoy the food. I was not super happy about that. The quality of meat was great but seafood was not so much. All the sides dishes was pretty mediocre. The kimchi soup was basically water with couple slices of kimchi. The bibimbap had zero flavors. Only the fried bun with condensed milk was good. The seasonings of bbq meats was alright. Nothing special there to talk about. Their sauce station is pretty good but would be more appreciated if the restaurant has some house recipes showing new comers to make the sauce otherwise ppl will be super overwhelmed. We paid around 70 each and for the amount of food and services and such, not quite a 4-star review yet. I like the concept but prob not back for awhile. There is better hotpot places out there

This is our family spot!!!! And our family is full of picky eaters. We've tried it all, the Korean bbq, the hot pot and the sushi!!! Don't forget their homemade soju. Ohhh soooo good.

You have to try the hotpot here! Absolutely delicious we got two different broths and the house broth we thought was the best. You can also make your dipping own sauce at a bar, which is great for all different taste pallets. We got two different meats and the vegetable plate. They have other options as well, menu has variety. Also the food presentation is very artistic and aesthetically pleasing. Would recommend!

I took my daughter and one of her friends here and this was the first time being there. I mentioned to our waitress that we have never been in there before and I'm sure it showed as we were very unfamiliar with ordering the hotpot. She didn't offer help and by the look on her face, she didn't have any patience with us. She couldn't be bothered to explain to us the difference with the noddles and never once asked us how everything is/was. When there were times we wanted something in addition to or even needed a second drink, we had to weave her down. When I asked for another drink, she took my order but apparently forgot all about me. I have had OK service in the past but this by far was the worst service ever. I'm not one to write reviews but I could not let this one go. I will never eat at the establishment again

Royal is awesome, and if you go with 3-4 people you can eat here at a very reasonable price. The meat selection is fantastic and the broth Options are great. I liked the basic house broth and the mushroom the best.

I have never been to this restaurant but I wanted to let this establishment and others know that I had a phantom Yelp reservation made somehow on my behalf for two people at 4 pm today. I am not sure if it's a yelp problem, an identity theft problem or an issue with this establishment, but I have cancelled the reservation and I am happy to remove this neutral review if someone could call me and explain what the issue might be. Thanks. Tim 6175436535

I haven't had any chance to comeback here during covid and they don't do all you can eat anymore after the pandemic. We had Korean bbq during lunch time, the food was fresh and delicious

After a healthcare visit in Boston we decided to have a dim sum lunch in Quincy on your way home to Cape Cod. Unfortunately both of our go-to Chinese restaurants were closed. Luckily we found Royal Hot Pot on trip advisor. My wife had sushi which was ver good and I had a vegan hot pot with a mild mushroom broth and a platter of tofu, mushrooms, seaweed, Napa and freshly made house noodles. It was excellent, especially with some sauces from the sauce bar. The service was efficient and the place is comfortable and very clean

This was our first time here. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We were served immediately. The food quality was good and our server explained everything. We were seated so close to others and there were plenty of table. We were sat in the middle of people and wished we were seated at a booth. We arrived after the dinner rush so that is probably why. It was a little on the pricey side. It was worth the hour drive and money. We will go again soon.

First time coming here and I am extremely impressed! The restaurant is spacious and clean, with separate party rooms for those exclusive gatherings. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The food came out very quickly (almost all at once). The meat and seafood was fresh and the presentation was chefs kiss*. This is the first hot pot place I've been to where the hot pot pot automatically lifts the contents out of the soup so you can see exactly what meats/ veggies are done. Dishes ordered: - Emporer luxury set ( we had 8 people and was the perfect amount) Pros: - Clean - Fresh food - cool technology - friendly staff - great for a large gathering - dipping sauce buffet. Cons - pretty pricey Verdict Overall if you are looking for good hot pot / Korean BBQ or even sushi then you should try this place out. Especially if you want to experience a fancy hot pot that separates the food for you.

This place is kind of bittersweet if you've been here before + after their remodel. There's no longer an AYCE option, but now they have high quality meats and even KBBQ! There is also an option to pick 4 broths in case you can't decide what to get. They upped their presentation game and prices, making them a place I'd go to occasionally since it's too pricey for a casual last minute dinner.

definitely great to bring your family too, partner or friends. it's about the experience first and then the food. Although the food does not disappoint at all I love the atmosphere and how nice all the stuff is. One of my favorite things to get here is definitely the pork dumplings, sushi and endless bbq options. if you go here please try any of their ice cream teas or lemonades I promise you won't regret it.

Overpriced. Live oysters basically cheap canned oysters. 3 people paid over $200 for cheap quality food. Not worth it. Not coming back for sure. They even charged for the sauce. They used soda fountain when they listed their restaurant is luxury.
