I have been going to the South Side Tavern for years as it's a great place to play bar games, casually drink, and watch sports. As soon as I walked in, I went to the girls room. I was shocked to find p*** on the toilet seat, the floor, and a huge turd in the trash. The trash had no lid on it so there was a p*** for everyone to see and gloves with p*** on it on the floor and in the trash. Keep in mind this was 8 at night. I'm kicking myself for not taking pictures.. a couple hours later they locked the girls room and the girls had to walk through a single urinal restroom to use a toilet with a door that doesn't lock. The bathroom was not much better than the poopy girls room. My friends and I were playing big Jenga and the Jenga fell on my drink. I went to the bartender, Jarrad, and he was very rude asking me why I would need paper towels. I explained what happened and he rolled his eyes and started walking over to the mess. He kept asking where it was and I pointed to where it was. He walked over to the group I was with and was making us feel bad about spilling a drink and telling us to clean Jenga up. Lastly, we paid money on the jukebox to skip ahead to hear songs before we left. If you have the app touchtunes you know how expensive it is to play a song let alone skip ahead. That same bartender Jarrad skipped our song from behind the bar. I'm all set with ever going there again. Oh wait and another thing. Sometime last year my friends and I went there to watch a Celtics game. We were in the parking lot about to leave after some guy got kicked out of the bar, he was walking outside and Jarrad chased after him and put him in a chokehold. People were trying to get Jarrad off of this guy and saying "Jarrad let him go!" My friend ended up calling the police. We thought for sure this bartender would be fired and not be there. Surprisingly enough he was there that night the human p*** was for all to see.

We came on a Monday. The place was quiet so we were seated right away. Service was fine. I got the steak tip with coleslaw and a garden salad. They were all decent. Only issue was towards when my girlfriend asked to pack her salad up with the dress that came with her meal. The waitress grabbed her a new new dressing and we were charged an extra $.50 for the confusion. We also had to ask for an empty for the dressing that we wanted to pack up. Beside, the little issue . It's a decent place for food. Price is reasonable.

decent bar but the male to female ratio is extremely off lol i would recommend the braintree location for a more balanced ratio
If I could give this place six stars, I would! Buff Chick Dip is delicious! Good selection of beer and a lovely local crowd.

Seems like a nice place but there is often some sort of ruckus going on there..fights, bar staff and patrons running through the street during late hours disrupting the neighborhood. Definately not the right place for a bar or that particular bar
