Ordered a seafood platter, and my mother had a fish and chip but she wanted haddock ,it turns out they gave her cod anyway even though we paid for the haddock. the the seafood platter terrible I don't know what they cook their batter in but it has no flavor and it's just the worst seafood platter I've had in a long time and and this is where I go normally, I will never go back I will go up the street and try Tony's maybe theirs is better, they're more expensive but at least I wouldn't have wasted my money

Classic spot for fried seafood in Quincy close to the beach. There's plenty of parking along the beach but it tends to be packed when there's good weather. The seafood plate had a generous portion of seafood for the money. I recommend this option if you want a bit of everything. It's perfectly fried with a good coating of breading. You get a good size for the fish and I really liked the jumbo shrimp with how it was cut to make a double curved shape. My favorites are the scallops and clam belly, they are just classics. The staff are friendly and the seafood is fresh.

I'm glad I went to this place, otherwise, I will never know how tasty the clams are. I went with my Mother and Aunt a while back. It was a long line to get the order and it's worth the wait. The service is fast-paced and the staff gave the customers a good warm welcome despite the busy day. I do love the view of the beach and the ocean. A great way to enjoy the view in warm weather! The food is very fresh and delicious, I'm not going to lie! I would prefer Clam Box on any given day! With a nice ambiance with seafood, this place disappoints me. I will recommend someone who is a fan of seafood!

I hope the new owners sell the business to someone that is capable of restoring the legacy of The Clam Box. It was always a little run down, and not the greatest area beach wise, but you could always count on getting great whole belly clams and other fried seafood. The last two times I've gone, they served me clam strips and called them whole belly clams. If you can't get big bellied clams, you should significantly lower your price on them. As is, I really don't feel the need to return, which is a bummer because I've been going there my whole life.

Fried fresh seafood with a spectacular view! What more can you ask for?!?! This place is casual dining; no waiter service. Order & pay at the counter and you're given a number; when your order is ready, they will call your number. In the meantime, get your utensils, napkins and sauces while you wait, then grab a table. We came from out of town, and we're so lucky that The Clam Box was open so early in the season! Not only were they open, but it wasn't crowded at all, and we got parking right across the street. Don't expect this during their peak season! Apparently, this place is very popular, and I can see why! We opted for the 3-Way platter ($31.99), which is great for those like us who want to try many items! The platter also came with coleslaw & lemon, and a very generous portion of French fries. We chose these 3 items: - Fried Scallops: perfection! - Fried Whole Belly Clams: they were on the small side, but great nonetheless. - Fried Oysters: Very Good! See my photos for their many menu items. There is something for everyone! Note for NYers: this place is equivalent to Johnny's Reef in City Island! Yup, great stuff! Go!

First I would recommend this place if you want chowder but the onion rings, fries, clam bellies and strips were tasteless, absolutely no taste at all. The clams didn’t taste like clams and the onion rings didn’t have any onion taste. No seasoning as well, including salt! The kids fish and chips was ok.We tossed most of the meal.overall a disappointing meal for almost $100. Not worth it!Sad because we expected it to be great. ?

We've been coming here for many years. The food has been great and I couldn't wait for them to open.. We visited today and I couldn't believe my eyes with the prices but I accepted it bcus we love the food. We usually get a 3 way and 2 bowls of soup and sometimes a lobster roll. It would range from $50 to $60. Tell me why it cost $90 for 2 of us. Which we really dont complain about it but the plate wasn't even full. It honestly looked like a kids meal. Ooooh Nooo! Looks like I'll be going somewhere else,

Right across from the beach. Food was excellent! Everything was perfectly seasoned and cooked! As slammed as they were, they were so on point. Waiting for for food was not an issue (it honestly didn't take long) and had fun talking to the staff and other guests. I highly recommend!!

My girlfriend and I used to eat there all the time until the new owner bought it last year. The fish is terrible it's to peppery. I spoke to the owner at the counter and expressed my concerns today because my girlfriend has a legitimate physical reaction to the pepper, her airway begins to close which is why we stopped eating there a year ago.Fast foward the tape to today heres what happened. We heard from a friend recently that they changed the fish batter and took out the pepper. We got super excited give em the benefit of the doubt so I went there and asked the owner he said absolutely not. I expressed my girlfriends health concerns to him and he completely in a very unprofessional manner disregarded that. I asked them to consider making two separate fish batters for the customer who loves the peppery tasteand one without the pepper. He said absolutely not they won't do that or consider it. That's where the conversation came to an end.I'm a Firefighter and carpenter, public service is number one priority especially with people's health concerns. The Clam Box "was" a historical family based restaurant, a phantom gourmet gem. Not anymore, you have lost my total respect and will never get it back. What you don't realize is hundreds of my friends stopped eating at your restaurant last year for the very same reason and your obvious unnecessary price increase on the food.I came to your doorstep today as a gentleman and will exit this conversation as a gentleman.i wish I could say the same about your professionalism and compassion towards people's health concerns. I do not trust any restaurant or the person who owns it that does not put that first.Godspeed ????

It’s a summer time thing! Order your fried clams, squid and French fries and sit by the ocean front out doors and enjoy the breeze and fried food!A bit pricy for a “clam box” beach atmosphere but it’s a good summer a storm feeling without having to go on summer beach vacation too far from home.Parking: Park by the beach and walk across the street to the store.

Unimpressed. Scallops had mussel attached making them less appealing. Clams were very small therefore overcooked dry and rubbery after frying. Won't be dropping cash there again.New owners have a lot to learn.
