Santa Madre Modern Mexican Cuisine

This may not look like the typical place to meet with a book club, but who makes the rules? Santa Madre has delicious drinks and savory dishes. The portions sizes are quite large (for drinks and food).

I got a 28oz margarita, which was huge… you could definitely split this size! All the dishes were yummy. This is a great family friendly place to have a casual meal with some friends in a cool restaurant setting. The prices were reasonable for the serving sizes. I met some friends here for a late lunch for our book club and it wasn’t crowded, and the service was quick. It was a great spot for some laughs and shenanigans.. and a little book recap discussion 😉

Lost me as a regular customer after the new menu change. Very sad because it’s one of my favorite places to go eat Mexican food. Now I have to find somewhere else but overall, it was great while it lasted.

Food was ok and service was amazing. Will be back to try something else from menu. This time had the Carne asada. It was dry n overcooked. Thought it was supposed to be a skirt steak but that def wasnt a skirt steak. Other than that, everything else was fine. Partner had the birria quesadilla and loved it.

This used to be our go-to spot every week, and my family loved it. We were so sad to see that the menu recently changed, and the dishes we always ordered are no longer available (like the lomillo con camarones, camarones Los Cabos, el sarape, and ceviche). Unfortunately, we couldn't find anything else on the new menu that we liked. We'll miss coming here, but we truly hope the business does well after such a huge change.

Best Mexican food on the south shore. service is great and the vibe is awesome.

Very nice contemporary mexican restaurant. The fajitas, quesadillas and pollo asado were absolutely devine. My British half and my BritiRican daughter loved it. They changed the menu with new option. Definitely, we are coming back...

This restaurant has been on my radar for some time now as I LOVE Mexican cuisine.

We were greeted with a smile on entry and that was welcoming.

Quickly seated on a not so busy Saturday afternoon our drink orders were taken with some appetizers along with it.

There was no aqua Fresca available which was a bummer but that was ok. Just wish I could have tried the Jamaica. Oh well!

For appetizers the decision for some crispy buffalo wings and mini Changas were made

The wings were pretty salty and season with some sort of yellow seasoning. Pretty good however they come with ranch 🤮 instead of blue cheese. Hot wings without the option of blue cheese is outrageous.

The mini changas were ok nothing spectacular. Crispy shell with tasty chicken stuffed inside

For the price they were worth it

For dinner I ordered the enchiladas Laredo and my mini me ordered the burrito.

The burrito received 2 thumbs up! Stuffed with fresh ingredients and toasted giving a crunchy exterior adding texture to the meal

The enchiladas Laredo served with refried beans and yellow rice got the job done. My only complaint is the rice didn’t seem fresh had a very old taste to it. Adding the diablo sauce helped it out. The chicken, beef, bean, and cheese enchiladas were absolutely delicious

All in all the bill came to about 80 bucks not bad for a meal for two.

Only complaint is the server not being attentive on a slow afternoon. It took too long to take payment as she disappeared from the floor and was often seen on the cell phone texting and laughing with other servers

Give it a try if you’re into Mexican cuisine I give a thumbs up in flavor & atmosphere while service needs work

Just went yesterday. The food was very bland. The drinks weren’t all that and the service was very lackluster.

Great find! Food was exceptional! Will definitely return!

Santa Madre has made it to the top of my favorite restaurants list!
Service is great, Beautiful place, amazing prices, drinks and portions. We have celebrated many of my family’s birthdays here and always have been great. Highly recommend!
