We expected a buffet. We googled Chinese buffets, and this location was listed, the website said there was a daily buffet. There is no buffet. It ended w Covid. We stayed and ordered off the menu, spent more than expected. The waitress was very pleasant and attentive. The atmosphere is uninspired, w forgotten metallic Xmas decorations in the dining room. The food was ok.

I've been going here for many years, but with my most recent takeout, food was not the same. Quality went down greatly, so I'm not sure if I'll return. Especially with the prices being as outrageous as they are.

I had a party of 15 on short notice. They were very nice and accommodating. The server was nice the food came out relatively quickly for such a large party. The food was good, including the sushi. Decently priced overall.

The portions were huge but the food lacked flavour and punch. The vegetable dumplings were a total let down though the tofu was excellent. I had to mix the vegetable noodles with some sauces at home and mix the lovely tofu with the noodles to make it interesting. The vegetarian wantons were well done but a tad too bland. I guess the vegetarian fare needs to be improved.
Vegetarian options: You can have things like sweet potato tempura rolls. (Idaho rolls)
Dietary restrictions: You can mention your allergies and they are listed on the menu
Parking: Parking is at the smaller end so if you can carpool.
Kid-friendliness: Yes. There's a bar side and dining side that are kept at a distance
Wheelchair accessibility: It's ground level.

Very disappointed to come back to my favorite out of state Chinese restaurant after 5 years passed to find out that they've discontinued what was probably the best buffet service on the North Shore. It has now gone from a lunch service that had a queue for seating to an empty dining area with 2 other couples eating. The food remains excellent, although now quite overpriced for the finite, single plate portions you're served.
For me, now it becomes an infrequent indulgence instead of a regular stop when a craving for great food at a great price has me searching local fare on the North Shore. A let down today, for sure...

We liked the waitress and they were nice and service was good but the food was horrible. The rice was the worst I ever had tasted like smoke. So did the teriyaki beef and sweet and sour chicken was pretty bad. The hot and sour soup wasn't bad but def would not recommend

Bartender is not good at his job, sat down at the bar to order food and drinks and refused to serve me because “I looked drunk” I hadn’t had any drinks today…he discriminated me from my looks and wouldn’t give me a menu yet and drove 30 mins to come here!!! If I was here with my date at a table I’d get served like usual. NEVER again
Soups were too gelatinous and not hot. Summer rolls were mostly lettuce. Overall food was poor. The service was also poor. I had to go find the waitress to get another drink. She never came to check if we needed anything else. I wouldn't mind but the place was empty. Would definitely ot recommend this place

Tonight we got some soup and sushi to go. I have never seen wonton soup like this. I am used to a clear chicken broth with a little bok choy, a wonton or two and a pork strip. This was a extremely salty soy sauce broth with a couple of over cooked wontons and some scallions. So salty it was inedible. The sushi was very dry, not freshly made. Would never go back.
Robert, I miss your restaurant so much. I moved to Myrtle Beach South Carolina.Miss you and your wonderful staff.

We went for lunch at 12:30, the place was empty. We were disappointed they did not have a buffet. The lunch menu was ridiculous small with about 7 different traditional Chinese food items and 7 different Japanese selections. The prices were way over priced for lunch. We ended up spending over $40.00 with tip for lunch that's with drinking only water and tea. The food at The Mandarin has never been our favorite but the last time we went it was pretty good. But today was a different story. The Miso soup was barely hot and the broth was separated. It tasted horrible. My tofu and veggies dish I ordered tasted good but was cold. My husband's lunch appetizer combo was good, no complaints from him, except the prices.
