As frequent guests at Post 1917 in Reading since they opened in 2024, it's safe to say that this delightful restaurant has become one of our favorite culinary destinations. Every visit feels like a special occasion, and we always look forward to our time there. From the moment we step through the door, we are warmly greeted by Jason and his incredible team. Their hospitality sets the tone for a delightful evening, making us feel like cherished guests rather than just customers. It's this attention to detail and personal touch that keeps us coming back time and again. The cocktail menu at Post 1917 is nothing short of impressive. On our most recent visit, we savored the Post Cosmos, which was perfectly balanced and refreshingly delicious. Each sip had us reminiscing about our favorite nights out, and it was a fantastic way to kick off our dining experience. Christian was instrumental in enhancing our meal with his wine recommendations. He listened attentively to our preferences/price point and expertly guided us to a bottle that paired beautifully with our dishes. It was a delight to discover a wine that not only complemented our meals but also highlighted our favorite tasting notes. As for the food, Post 1917 never disappoints. We started with the onion soup, which was expertly seasoned and had the perfect depth of flavor. It was rich and comforting, a true testament to the kitchen's skill. For our main courses, we indulged in the steaks, which were cooked to perfection. Each bite was a harmonious blend of tenderness and flavor that left us wanting more. To round off our evening, we had after-dinner cocktails which provided a delightful finish to our meal. In summary, our experiences at Post 1917 have consistently been remarkable. With the best food in the area and a staff that truly cares about the customer experience, we can't recommend this restaurant highly enough. If you haven't yet visited, you're missing out on something truly special!
Once again, we had an excellent meal with attentive service and a great ambience. The prices are steep, especially for the suburbs, but the quality is there.
I have been to Post 1917 more than 4 times now and have always had an amazing experience. I have Celiac and was so happy to learn that 90%+ of their menu is gluten free. They take extra care with allergies and this was so nice not to have to wonder if I am going to be sick after a meal because of cross contamination. I have also visited with friends that are dairy free and they also had no issues! We have indulged in the oysters and they are by far the best around - every time. We typically tend to go to higher end restaurants and Post is definitely one of our faves! Steaks are always cooked perfectly, drinks are VERY well made and they have delicious mocktails too (which can be hard to find) and the atmosphere is fun & trendy. Great for a date night, night out with friends or celebration. We love to sit at the bar as well, plenty of seating. Highly recommend.
I have been to Post several times since you opened in Reading. This night was far different ( 12/4/25). My friend ordered the Shrimp entree after her salad and shared app. The shrimp dish was so spicy hot that it wasn't edible. I tasted it, love spice but this was way beyond edible. The older waiter came by and I told him my friend could not eat it but she didn't want to make a fuss. He didn't say a word and walked away. Said nothing. He was not pleasant, no talk, nothing!I should have pushed harder. We both left feeling so disappointed. Her first trip to POST. Only ate her salad. I was so embarrassed and insisted she not pay for it, however she did! We need to figure out how to reimburse her for a $35 meal that wasn't eaten. All around the waiter gets 2 stars and that is generous. Happy to provide any additional info.
The atmosphere at post 1917 was lovely. The brick interior with the well appointed wallpaper and beautiful lighting, creates a moody ambience in the dining room. The bar area with high tops around it was much more lively and a brighter vibe. The staff was very friendly and very attentive. We ordered one entrée and a bunch of hors d'oeuvres and some vegetables to share between three of us. We ordered the halibut, which was just unfortunately a bit dry. We also ordered the Wagyu dumplings, which did not have much flavor however it came with the dipping sauce, which was fairly salty. The street, corn brussels and the Caesar salad were very good. All in all I would say it was good and I will definitely try it again.
Ordered the surf and turf special, lobster was undercooked and filet mignon over salted. Overpriced for terrible food, along with poor service.
Everything about Post 1917 was amazing! The food, service and atmosphere. We will definitely be back!
Went to Post 1917 for the second time tonight, and we were extremely disappointed in the quality of the food. Our first visit last year was amazing, and we were so excited to visit there again for a special birthday dinner, but left feeling the food was not worth the cost. The lamb chops appetizer were sent back as they were raw in the middle and barely seared on the outside. I don't think I have ever sent food back in my life, but simply had to here. The lamb was not just rare, but raw. They gave us a second batch that were still rare, but edible....not delicious, just edible. My filet was also underdone, and I ate mostly just the outside edges. My daughter's pasta side was overcooked and gummy. Dessert was fine, but unforgettable. The best thing we ate were the tater tots, which were fabulous, but our bill was over $400 after tip, and nowhere near worth it. After having such a great first dining experience last January, we were so disappointed this visit, and sadly, will not return a third time .
Got a really beautiful table by the window but there were a couple of large parties. The manager moved us closer to the bar side so we could enjoy our anniversary dinner. Louis was wonderful helping us choose our entrees and we even got an anniversary card and glasses of champagne! Looking forward to going back soon.
overall dinner was great, noisy and crowded in the bar area makes it hard to hear table mates sometimes especially when sitting in the "half moon" tables

Celebrated our Anniversary. Table had a Happy Anniversary card when we were seated. Service was warm and knowledgeable. Food was exquisite.
Second time I have been to Post1917 and the experience was amazing. Food, drinks and service were amazing
Great place for a special night. My wife and I sat at the bar for dinner and had an awesome meal. Everything we had was excellent, drinks, salads, steaks, sides and dessert.
Would highly recommend!

Food was good, service was not. We waited 30 mins after our reservation time before we were seated. After experiencing subpar service that was extremely slow and transactional the entire night, we were asked to leave as soon as we paid our bill due to a reservation behind us.
We tried Post 1917 for our wedding anniversary dinner, and they did not disappoint! Our server, Roberto, was excellent. The food was outstanding! The price point is a little high, but we felt for a special occasion, everything was worth the price and was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend.
