I've been going to this place since I was a child around 30 year's and they have always had the best steak and cheese subs around....Yesterday got 3 subs around 3 o'clock in the afternoon spent around 45.00 , when I returned home the subs we're not even wrapped the steak was all over the bag one sub had only steak on one side. The bread was stale steak tasted old and tasteless and my daughter's buffalo chicken was covered in nasty brown lettuce š„¬ I'm so disappointed that's a lot of money to loose. Going to call the Manager today

Nice people but pizza was kind of mid. On the other hand, the dessert was fantastic. Highly recommend those

Both the steak and cheese and the italian sub were just plain bad.

It was the greatest steak and cheese in Massachusetts and Iāve tried at-least 10 places, HIGHLY suggest ordering it and thatās what they are known for. The portions were also fantastic and spending the couple extra dollars if worth it.

Good pastry great service
The subs here are the best. The best chicken parm sub in the city in my opinion. The steak and cheese is also great. If you order a large you'll need help to finish it. So blessed to live around the corner from here. I also love their chocolate chip cookies and their brownies. Always soft. Always consistent.
I just bought a danish for 3.25 and I would mind if it was good but it tasted day old hard and dried out. I threw it away. This place used to be decent not anymore
Iām sad I just started going to Manneās because I wasted many years getting inferior cannolis. The plain one with the powdered sugar was a revelation, and they fill them right there in front on you. Then a week later to go back I got a cheesesteak. Are you kidding me, it was also the best cheesesteak Iāve ever had. Iām not being extra, they know what they are doing. And not pricy. I brought a few slices of their pizza and I reluctantly shared. Now I have several people who will be customers. Iām not exaggerating, Manneās is that good.
Straight bussin' food, and straight bussin' staff.
Bless up Jill, that lass needs a raise.

Best place to get a steak and cheese sub, slice of eggplant pizza or cookies!!! Friendly staff, quick serviceš special shout-out to Jill and Izzy.
They used to be better. I havenāt been here in over a year because I no longer work nearby to pick up food for lunch. The quality and presentation have dropped. Upon arrival, there were two females behind the counter at separate sections. I wasnāt sure which section to go to, to make my order and they appeared like they didnāt want to be bothered. I got a large Italian sub, cheesecake, and tiramisu. The photo of the Italian sub is in the attached photo and looks like a 5 year old made it.

What's crazy is that it wasn't until yesterday that I realized that this is the same Manne's that was once upon a time located on Salem Street in the north end. My grandmother used to buy her bread from there and always got me a slice of pizza or a lemon square from there and after they closed- I never really enjoyed a lemon square or Sicilian pizza. For the past year or so my mom and I have been stopping in from time to time and I always get a lemon square and tell her how much they remind me of the lemon squares nonnie used to get for me. Yesterday afternoon we stopped in and I decided to get a slice and it hit me immediately after my first bite. The feeling of longing for something from my past that bought me such much pleasure was finally over! āŗļø I knew in that very first bite that this was indeed the same Manne's bakery that my grandmother used to take me to. Even though it had been 25+ years since having their pizza- I could never forget the taste as I always hoped to find something that would come close throughout the years. It's rare that a family holds onto recipes without making slight modifications, but this was not the case here. Pizza tastes exactly the same as it did when I was a little girl. Having that first bite was nostalgic and I'm so happy that we were able to make the connection yesterday while in there. We'll be back far more often now.
My personal favorites are the lemon squares, Sfogliatella and the banana bread. The pumpkin muffins from here are beyond amazing as well.

I donāt get to revere as often as I used to but today was extra special. It ās been 11 months since Iāve been there. OMG I had a small italian on a seeded roll & wow the best italian sandwich out there. I live 12 miles outside of Portland mE & this puts Ramonaās & others to shame. We also ordered a small rare roast beef that was exceptionally good & loaded with meat & cheese. Canāt help but buy something sweet. My wife had Cheesecake to die for & I had the best lobster claw ever.

Traditional Italian bakeries are a dying breed. This place is old school and checks all the boxes.
