Our dining experience was nothing short of amazing. We were welcomed with warmth and true hospitality. The owners have clearly put a lot of care into creating a space that was spotlessly clean, and the attention to detail was evident in every corner.
The food was spectacular as well! A lot of local flavors and the coconut cake was to die for. Our server Nick was the best! Can’t wait to go back.

We came to this restaurant after walking around the neck. While I was looking over the menu, my company went to use the restroom. This is when things turned BIZARRE.
While I was inspecting the menu, a disheveled old woman with maniac mannerisms came whipping to the front of the restaurant. She looked at the bathroom doors, became excited, then hovered around the area.
When my partner returned, she approached and in a highly confrontational tone asked if he had just used the bathroom. He said he had.
At this point, she pointed to a “No public restroom” sign. He began to explain that we are planning on eating there, however, she cut him off mid-sentence, pointed at him, and said “you knew better—you’re a bad boy!”
I suppose had she been joking, this could have possibly been comical? However, her tone was condescending and completely serious.
At this point, I hadn’t fully processed her bizarre behavior… Was this a lost vagrant who’d wandered in off the street? Was she a staff member under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol? Is this woman a manager with serious mental health problems who gets a rush on policing the bathroom and speaking down to people? Whatever the case, this woman apparently represents this restaurant in some capacity.
One could (possibly?) expect to witness such tacky, rude behavior from a disgruntled 7/11 employee in the grips of a crack addiction, but at a “fine dining” establishment in a quaint seaside town? How truly bizarre!
Needless to say, we did not eat there. Looking at other reviews, it appears we dodged a bullet.

Brought a friend here for a long awaited get-together dinner. Never been here before, and it was such a memorable time. It was a warm day, but a chill hanging in the air so we had the deck mostly to ourselves as the sun set and red hunter's moon came up over the ocean. We had a sumptuous feast of shared dishes, mussels, clam chowder, a salad with many different fruits including fresh fig, the salad with the browned lamb chops was wonderful too, and a coconut cake that was really a cut above. I don't know what the other person was talking about that the food isn't gourmet, because several things were the best I've ever eaten. The sauces, soups and dressings had real depth. Our waiter was very friendly, attentive and let us sit and talk - just what the doctor ordered. Thank you My Place for an evening we won't forget.

Loved the lunch. The cafe is right by the Atlantic Ocean. Food is great and staff very friendly.
We sat the outdoor patio and enjoyed the lovely breeze and view.
It’s a bit expensive but potions are big and I guess you are paying for the view😊
Vegetarian options: Had the vegetarian chili soup and veggie sandwich. Both were excellent.

Admittedly the food was amazing and the views were amazing, my issue with the place is the service. I broke my shoe at the restaurant and had to walk barefoot to wash my hands in the restroom after my meal. The owner just stopped me at the gate and refused to let me grab my things. My partner was also rushed out of the restaurant. I told her my shoe had broken and thus I cannot walk with it, but she made me try it on in front of her. In the end, I grabbed my broken shoes and left after paying. This is the second time I went to this place, knowing I love the views. But I won’t be going again. I’m against this kind of treatment. Instead of helping me with it, she chose to treat me poorly.

Twenty-five years ago our first meal of our honeymoon was at My Place By thr Sea! New ownership/chef now. They were not sure they were going to open today so these pictures are from Monday.
First, OMG, this was the best meal I have ever had! We both started with NE Clam Chowder was, smooth, creamy, seasoned to perfection and there probably are no clams left in the ocean. Anne had the Salmon over beet salad. Perfectly prepared and presented! I had the Haddock Szechuan style over rice and Perfectly prepared vegetables, that probably were picked after we ordered. Delicious!
We took our strawberry lemon short cake with Chantilly Cream home for later. Fabulous!
Nick our server was attentive, and a delightful person. He was well rewarded for incredible work.
Thank you for making our day truly memorable and we are coming for lunch today! This chef is brilliant and is worth every cent the .meal cost. Some would be turned off by price I on the other hand will never complain if the meal meets that price!
Brava! My Place by the Sea!

Excellent meal tonight, with great views and great service.
Good selection on the menu + a range of specials.
We shared the beet salad to start, which was fresh and good size portion, if a little bland.
I had the halibut special, which was good, but for me, it had a little too much 'stuff' on it. The panko crust detracted from the taste of the fish, which would have been fine on its own. That said, I did enjoy it, just not as much as the halibut I had the previous night, which was plain grilled with a sweetcorn salad.
My partner had the lamb chops, which were perfect- tender, tasty and perfectly cooked.
Desserts are not this restaurants strong point. The chocolate dessert was a lot of chocolate and the sponge was a little dry.
The Lemon tart special was OK, but too much base and the lemon bit and the cream had a rather odd consistency.
Overall we had a good evening, but was let down in a few areas. Plus the rather odd booking procedure of not being at to book before midday on the say is bizarre and might be the reason the restaurant was half empty.

This place is not dog-friendly. We visited with our two well-behaved corgis, only to be told by a lady who worked there that only one dog was allowed because the second will scare customers. It was disappointing, especially since Rockport is known for being a welcoming town for dog owners. With so many other great, dog-friendly restaurants in the area, I wouldn’t recommend this place to those who enjoy dining with their pets.
We ate outside. Food was delicious service was great

Cannot believe this place has as many good reviews as it does. Must be from all their “inside” people. Was told not to bother waiting when we were able to get seated within 15 minutes, but facing the parking lot. When we said we wanted to wait for better seating, they said we will not get in, so we took the seats facing the parking lot and proceeded to watch at least 15-20 friends and family members get seated on the patio facing the ocean. Very much so an uppity place where you have to know someone to get served well. Would never recommend or come again!

My better half and I made reservations for two through the concierge Nick the day before we arrived! We happened to be greeted by Nick and were seated promptly at the table we requested! We were greeted by Molly who was our server and she described and answered all of our questions and had perfect timing throughout our meal! From wine selection and food choices! We both had the Caesar salads followed by their signature lobster tacos and finalized with a browny with sorbet!
Nick also checked in on us as did Molly!
The staff , the food, the sea side table and the atmosphere was just perfect!
Thank you all

This place is a GEM they are so welcoming and the food is amazing. We showed up on a Wednesday evening and had a blast at the Hump day celebration they have every week. A DJ played all the right music while everyone danced the night away while enjoying some amazing cocktails right on the water! Fun light up accessories were handed out!!
Barbara was the kindest person - as an owner she realized were are staying at an AiBnB very close she asked if we needed anything bottled water etc! Every worker at this place are friendly and engaging!!
Definitely a must eat at adorable restaurant in Bearskin Neck!!
We will be eating there again this evening!!
