“A bit on the expensive side but food was delicious. There are vegetarian options. Space is pretty cramped. We ordered the house special drink served in hollowed pineapple. It was okay,”
“The Emerson Inn is a quaint hotel with the most kind of people working there. From the moment you walk through the doors you feel the immediate welcome and are instantly at peace. The Parlor Bar is a wonderful treat with delicious drinks and food. With all that being said, I feel that what makes the Emeson such an amazing place is everyone that works there. They make you feel at home, they are kind and accommodating!”
“Friendliest people, so sweet and caring. The food is always delicious! A fan favorite of my whole family, and all of our friends! Chrissy and Patrick are the best.”
“From the street it looks like nothing is going on- but the acton is in the back, a busy big room with windows facing the water. Lots of good food choices, friendly service, open room a little noisy.”
“Best coffee in Rockport along with excellent selection of donuts and pastries. We had the breakfast sandwiches which were great and inexpensive. Ordering from the bar is fun and straightforward and the staff are lovely. Planning to try to skillets and other fare to see how that is later in our stay.”
“Visiting and stumbled on this awesome little place. Service is unmatched- very nice and patient, food was wonderful, and view can’t be beat. We will definitely go back before heading home!”
“Highlight of my summer is coming to rockport and Gloucester, eating some lobster and topping it off with shake from this place! I like to get an ice cream flavor that has "bear" in it. I think it's called Maine bear? But this shake is the best. Right amount of chocolate, cherry and everything else... love it!”
“Rapper Review!Local guide here,We visited this shop the other night in beautiful Rockport. The shop was clean and they served us pretty quick. Little on the pricey side for the size you get. I ordered a medium and my son got a small and it was the same size for different prices. Quality was good. Salted caramel truffle for the win. Other than that one thing I mentioned, I would recommend this to those visiting the area. Enjoy.”
“The food from Hong Kong Kitchen continues to improve. I suspect they have stopped worrying about local aging palates and are now cooking to their own expertise and tastes. Fresh ingredients and vegetables, generous portions, layered flavors. And as important, run by a really nice family and charging fair prices.”
“Went here for lunch with my mother in law and we both really enjoyed it! I got the tuna wrap & a latte - both were very delicious. There's not a lot of seating, but the view was great. The staff was all very pleasant. Will definitely be coming ”
“Everyone was so friendly. My fish and chips were delicious! My husband, the steak bomb connoisseur, said it was the best he’s had in 20 years. We’ll be back again, and again! So many yummy options still to taste. Congratulations Delisis Red Skiff ? Well done ?”
“Stopped to get a lobster roll. The place is as advertised, very basic! In good weather the location is awesome. They have outside tables with an amazing view! The day I was here was cold! It had a gas log stove inside, but was really chilly inside. Don't think they have any other heat! The lobster roll was very generous, lots of nice chunks. Served with French fries right out of the fryer, so nice and hot. A bit too much mayo for my taste on the lobster, but the lobster tasted good. $28 for the lobster roll today.”
“Excellent food (have the reuben and clam chowder), in a nice cozy and local atmosphere. Great beers on tap, and friendly staff. Always a must when passing through!”
“OMG... Awesome!! Great personal service, from the owner no less. She sized us up when we walked in and said, "just a minute", "sure, no rush", And then the waitress brought us upstairs to our table by a huge picture window overlooking the ocean (downstairs was pretty busy). Heaven for both of us. Thank you so much. Started with the veggie chili, then the Best scallops and artichokes I've ever had, My partner had the veggie sandwich and loved it. Great decor, lots of interesting things, beautiful view, Can't wait to go back.”
“Good option for a quick ice cream while waiting for the commuter train to arrive. They have both regular and soft serve ice cream. I had the soft serve which was pretty good. The place is cash only and has a few tables available.”
“We stayed in Rockport recently for a couple of nights and got two meals here. Both times, the food was good ole comfort food and the owner and employees were pleasant and professional. It's clear that they have a lot of beloved regulars and it has a "down home" atmosphere. Next time in Rockport, I'm sure we'll be back.”
“The staff was very considerate. They informed me that my food would take longer than anticipated and offered me a free side as a consolation. The food was well worth the wait and was exactly something one would want after a long day at the beach.”
“Delicious and unique ice cream flavors. Sophia accommodated our large party with friendly service. Small ice cream shop but still had plenty of seating. If I was a local I'd make multiple weekly trips!”
“Best Pizza I’ve had in town and the North Shore. Remind me Of the pizza in Italy. It’s definitely the closest you’re gonna get to pizza from Italy. The service is great as well.”
“Amazing! What can I say that these other 5 star reviews haven't said already? My wife and I went for our anniversary, but you don't need a special occasion to go. Just go for it! The dedication that Chef Sang Lee puts into each dish is life changing. What I love the most if that Chef gets the freshest fish right from Gloucester and New England. Keep it up! We look forward to our next visit.”
“Kind of a love hate thing here. Their food is good-great. Their coffee is amazing. Their wait staff is sometimes nice but also kind of like folks at a yoga studio. There is a lot going on here. The interior is cute. I can't decide if it is worth the general moodiness. But also, people get to have feelings. And it is a nice place.”
“Really good sandwiches. I got the only vegetarian option on the menu, but I'd definitely come back for another. If New Deal Fruit is a 10/10 (which I think it is), I think the sandwiches here are like a 9/10. I'll definitely be back.”
“My husband and I were driving through the area and stopped in for breakfast. This restaurant was excellent. The staff and local patrons were so friendly. The food was amazing. If they sold T-shirts, I’d buy one! We give it a 12 out of 10. Highly recommend.”
“Fantastic Service and Food. It's Italian Seafood menu is great and executed well. Everything from Raw Bar, Cioppino, Homemade Pasta, Tuna and Steaks. Their seasonal specials are wonderful. If you are in town, stop in.”
“Short & Main in Gloucester is a culinary gem, seamlessly blending coastal charm with exquisite cuisine. The seafood-focused menu showcases fresh, locally sourced ingredients, and the inventive dishes reflect a commitment to quality. The intimate ambiance, attentive service, and a thoughtfully curated wine list contribute to an exceptional dining experience.”
“Wonderful oysters and fantastic baked stuffed lobster. Clam chowder pretty good and Milo loved the beef filet. The employees were really nice and I'm super impressed by the friendliness of the local people. Real good experience for me.”
“Visited for the first time last night and I can't believe we waited so long. This place is delicious! It's a cute place with a large bar and seating at well spaced tables, plenty of elbow room. Service was great. Server (owner or manager maybe?) was very warm and friendly. I got the Machaca (beef brisket) rolled up in a chimichanga while my partner had a variety of tacos. It was all amazing! Even the sauce on the chimi had me cleaning my plate! Another owner(?), cook(?) also stopped by to check on us and explained the family background about some menu items. We were delighted. The margarita was also tasty. We will definitely be back for another taco Tuesday (or Margaritas Monday, etc.). I think this is our new favorite in the area. Can't wait to try more food!”
“Oh my god. Okay, so I'm very new to poke, like have only had it one time... at the mall food courtttt? (I know, I'm sorry hahah) but I just tried it here the other day and am currently eating a warm bowl of leftovers in my lap and just... it's just so good. I feel so nourished. The flavors, the textures. I had no idea it was here and often find myself longing for a nutritious, more wholesome meal amidst the many wonderful pizza/sub/seafood places on Cape Ann - don't get me wrong, I love a good slice or a cheesesteak! But sometimes my body is just like "I'm so tired. I don't want to cook. I need vegetables and rice and salmon, please... please ?" - The staff was so friendly and didn't make me feel awkward while I stood there reading every single thing on the sign in total overwhelm. They were happy to explain the menu and so cheerful. I tried their new Harvest Bowl with a combo of shrimp and smoked salmon... oh man. I hope that never leaves the menu! If you haven't been, go and have a poke bowl here!”
“This place is an absolute gem! The service is great, the servers are casual and friendly... and the food is really thoughtful and worth a detour! Best caesar salad I have ever had. Go check this place out.”
“Feather and wedge is my favorite fine dining restaurant in Massachusetts. The food is fantastic. I’ve never been a fan of broccoli rabe before but I get it with the steak fairly often nowadays. The staff is also stellar. Highly recommend.”
