“Stopped at Essex Seafood, for the first time, yesterday. I can’t say enough good things about it! The building, inside and out, is immaculate! Once you get inside, the help is courteous and kind! And the food is so good! My wife and I, each got a special, and the portions were huge. Everything was delicious, and their onion rings are awesome. You cannot go wrong, stopping here!”

“As the inventor of the fried clam, this place destroyed almost all other places that sell fried clams.
The fried clams that I had here yesterday were the best that I ever had! The slaw was good too.
This place is huge and is able to handle large crowds.
There are two separate lines/counters for beverages vs food. There are free drink refills on the fountain drinks.
The staff here does a great job.
I am thankful that I learned of this place and was able to go here.
They offer ice cream, but it is seasonal.
I really do need to reassess my prior fried clam restaurant choices…

“We recently hired Googans to cater for a celebration of life. We kept it simple with a cheese and veggie platter, sandwiches and sweets- finger food. Everything was absolutely delicious! People were raving about how good the sandwiches and desserts were. I absolutely recommend for catering and also to stop in their shop for breakfast and/or lunch. We were very happy with our whole experience with Googan’s.”

“My husband and I sat outside and had a lovely snack in the sun, away from most of the hustle & bustle that October brings to Salem. We thoroughly enjoyed the butternut squash hummus, falafel, and cauliflower & quinoa tabouleh but the real highlight for us was the apple cider! Holy. It was the best we had on our trip around New England. Not too sweet, served nice & hot, lightly spiced and so, so good! The service was wonderful as well! “Excellent last stop in Salem on a beautiful fall October day. River side beer garden and kiddo friendly. The Fiestbier rocked and the dark Czech beer made my wife happy. Good people, and great place to relax after a fun pre-Halloween midweek day and before catching our ferry back to Boston. Highly recommended when in Salem next!”
