“Had a very nice lunch here with 3 adults and 2 kids (ages 3 and 2).

The food was good as always but the server was evrn better. She was so kind and patient with our grandkids. She mentioned she had 3 of her own and understood a day out with young kids.

“Stopped at Essex Seafood, for the first time, yesterday. I can’t say enough good things about it! The building, inside and out, is immaculate! Once you get inside, the help is courteous and kind! And the food is so good! My wife and I, each got a special, and the portions were huge. Everything was delicious, and their onion rings are awesome. You cannot go wrong, stopping here!”

“We recently hired Googans to cater for a celebration of life. We kept it simple with a cheese and veggie platter, sandwiches and sweets- finger food. Everything was absolutely delicious! People were raving about how good the sandwiches and desserts were. I absolutely recommend for catering and also to stop in their shop for breakfast and/or lunch. We were very happy with our whole experience with Googan’s.”

The atmosphere was great and I have to give a big shout out to our waitress Rachel, who was a total sweetheart and very accommodating, as well as Tori, who took over as our waitress when Rachel's shift was over. “My husband and I sat outside and had a lovely snack in the sun, away from most of the hustle & bustle that October brings to Salem. We thoroughly enjoyed the butternut squash hummus, falafel, and cauliflower & quinoa tabouleh but the real highlight for us was the apple cider! Holy. It was the best we had on our trip around New England. Not too sweet, served nice & hot, lightly spiced and so, so good! The service was wonderful as well! “We hosted my son's high school graduation party in the Bramble room + the upstairs lounge. From start to finish, the staff made the process easy and well organized. While we wanted to host a nice party, we also wanted to keep the costs reasonable. The team was creative with their suggestions and helpful in accommodating our requests. Not hosting this event at home, allowed us to really enjoy our guests and to leave the planning up to the experts. “It’s a lovely setting right by the water, so a fantastic place to go on a sunny day.

Beer-wise I tried three. One of the pilsners was excellent, another was decent, then I tried a NEIPA which I thought was actually pretty poor. So overall a little disappointed in the beers given the reputation this place has, but maybe it was just bad luck. I’d stick to lagers on any future visit.

We also had a pretzel and cheese sauce as a snack and that was very tasty.”

“Stopped in this past Saturday, on a trip up from Florida. Watched the dog training class for a bit and their welcome inside, and sampled a couple of the "offerings". Great brews! As a former home brewer, brought back a couple memories (Porter and IPA). And the bartender was GREAT!! 🙂”
