She sized us up when we walked in and said, "just a minute", "sure, no rush", And then the waitress brought us upstairs to our table by a huge picture window overlooking the ocean (downstairs was pretty busy). Heaven for both of us. Thank you so much. Started with the veggie chili, then the Best scallops and artichokes I've ever had, My partner had the veggie sandwich and loved it. Great decor, lots of interesting things, beautiful view, Can't wait to go back.

Don't do it. I don't know what "fine" dining was 20 years ago, but it certainly isn't that in 2024. Service was fine. Location is great.Our table was a metal outdoor patio table with a tablecloth and a fake candle. (I think I still have the lines from the metal on my arm).The service members all had really colorful pants on. I understand the idea to try and make it relaxed, but for us it did take away from the "fine" dining experience we were looking for.The food is over priced. My wife got the halibut special and I got an Angus steak. Both meals were just under $50."Crispy" potatoes on the menu = french fries. Vegetables = steamed vegetables that were identical on both plates. Reminded me of cafeteria food. The proteins were cooked well, but had no flavor.The expectations we had when we arrived were dashed. When my wife complained about the fish, the lady asked if maybe she was more used to spice... And offered to cook it a different style (no idea what that was going to end up like)We went for our anniversary and after we both complained, she told us we could leave. So we walked out.We made a reservation at another place in town that actually was fine dining and the food cost was lower than here.We won't be back

We had really high hopes for this place but the food just fell totally flat. Bland haddock and a very over done cheeseburger. Drinks were underwhelming as well. They took the burger off of the check and we appreciated that, but for the prices this place is charging they need to do better. Owner did not acknowledge anything upon our exit, which was fine because she fixed the bill, says a lot. But, service was fantastic.

My husband and I were in Rockport to do a little Christmas shopping, and we found this gem of a restaurant. We were warmly welcomed by the co-owner into their beautiful space set right on the ocean. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, and our lunches were yummy. I had a grilled fruit salad (a special)and savored every bit of it. My husband had their clam chowder and burger plate and he thoroughly enjoyed it as well. He gave me a taste of the chowder and hands down it is my favorite chowder in New England. Delicious! Thank you My Place By The Sea for a lovely meal!

Such a stunning, perfect meal that somehow made us feel like we were at an old friend’s place. The food was both high-end and comforting, and the service was attentive and caring without being suffocating. A very worthy spot for a nice night out!

Great lunch today with a life long friend. Our server Nick was outstanding. Extremely knowledgeable about the menu and spent time with us helping with recommendations. We had the chowder which was amazing, the beet salad and shrimp and lobster quesadilla. Everything we ordered was fabulous. We had an amazing ocean view. Never felt rushed and had such a nice experience.
The service was excellent along with the atmosphere! We had the best salmon and beet salad I ever tasted. The flavors all complemented each other. I really wanted to lick my plate clean. I can't wait to go back again.

Visiting the area and came on a whim. Exquisite views. Started with the chowder and the best way to describe is "WOW". I ordered the Wild Mussels and my gf ordered the fish sandwich. Hard to describe how delicious and fresh both were. Server was knowledgeable and attentive. One of the owners (Barbara) was extremely friendly. Absolutely loved this place and the experience. Even gave us a dessert because it was out anniversary. Can't wait to come back to Rockport sole for My Place by the Sea!

My mom and I stayed in Rockport for a long weekend. We ate here after an 8+ hour drive from Maryland. Ended up sitting upstairs with the whole upper dining area to ourselves. It was magical with the fairy lights. Barbara took great care of us, as did the waiter. They both made sure we had everything we needed. The food was delicious and filling and the drinks were expertly made. I had the lobster tacos and a My Place Blue Sky cocktail and we shared a coconut cake for dessert. Just lovely!

Enjoyed lunch here yesterday and very much enjoyed it. We shared the lobster salad which was served on a roll and a bowl of New England clam chowder. Both were excellent! The young man that was our server was kind and did his job well. We sat next to another couple that came in from Boston that came to Rockport for the pure reason of enjoying lunch there. They told us that they always enjoy the hospitality of the employees there so that says a lot !
